This book I have found very different to previous books on Church history as it focuses on the theology of the people (Saints) of the past. Many of the characters you may have heard of and heard much of their stories, this book talks more of the backgrounds and theology of the time and environment . I would recommend this book for a more informed understanding of the history of the Christian faith a long with the books that give the stories like Bebe's history of Great Britain

Interesting book but I can't make up my mind which audience it is aimed at- non-academics, or those with no knowledge at all of this subject. Almost child-like explanations in some areas and detailed coverage of complicated issues. Probably good for a quick "run around" of this whole topic.

This book was not too bad but it did seem rather long winded in places. Was a little disappointed in some of it also. However, some of it was very interesting to read.

While the content is of itself interesting the book is distractingly full of typographical and grammatical errors which I would not expect from a work at this level of scholarship.
