Amazon Review

Anthony Horowitz's fourth fictional foray into the world of British spy agency MI6, Eagle Strike, sees teenage sleuth Alex Rider once again fighting ingenious villains and charming every girl he meets. Eagle Strike, starts out calmly enough with Alex and his lovely companion, Miss Sabina Pleasure, on holiday with her family in the south of France. But before you can say Goldfinger, he spots his old nemesis, renowned assassin Yassen Gregorovich, on the beach. Alex discovers a plan so diabolical that it makes all of his previous adventures seem like a stroll in the Queen Mother's garden. Alex must fight to keep Gregorovich from executing the plans of a mysterious and murderous madman--an operation code-named "Eagle Strike". He will just have to face down a few minor complications first: a virtual reality game that inflicts real pain; a fleet of Porche 911 GT3-driving hit men; and even a near-fatal brush with death aboard the most famous aircraft in the world, Air Force One. Eagle Strike, as with all the other ridiculously fun Alex Rider adventures, is a pure pleasure from start to finish. Even the most reluctant of readers won't be able to resist Alex's Bond-like ingenuity and charisma. Anthony Horowitz is a master of pacing, and as Alex swings from one cliff-hanging chapter to the next, Horowitz proves that you don't have to be Shakespeare to pen a crackerjack plot. --Jennifer Hubert, Amazon.com --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Eagle Strike is the fourth book in the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz. Alex is a truly wonderful creation. He is the person every schoolboy in the world wants to be. Each of Horowitz's books is twice as good as the last. Horowitz has excelled himself yet again with another fantastic book.
In " Eagle Strike" Alex is still only fifteen but has already had three life changing adventures that involved poison gas, clones and ultimate world domination. This time Alex Rider is on the track of multi-millionaire Damian Cray. When he sees contract killer Yassen Gregorovich visit Cray he suspects the worse. When MI6 refuse to look into it, Alex decides to investigate, with or without their help.
Fate also leads Alex to his destiny. But does he like what he finds?
Tension, atmosphere and suspense unite in the adventure of a lifetime. Enter Alex's world of spies, gadgets and murder in this superb book. It will take your breath away.

After reading Anthony Horowitz previous Alex Rider books, this one offered just as much excitment as the previous ones. This time Alex must save the world by himself, with no help from MI6. He discovers a link with a Damian Cray, celebrity, human rights campaigner and creater of a new computer console, who, like in the other 'baddies' in the previous books, wishes to influence the world with 'Eagle strike'. Alex's lack of gadgets is slightly disappointing, or rather the use of them, but the amount of action makes up for this. His friend from Skeleton Key, Sabina Pleasure, offers yet more action and is key to the plot. Nail-biting chapters, excitment and action bring this book together to offer a wonderful read - well up to the standard of Anthony Horowitz. A revalation about Alex's past offeres a shocking ending and hopefully an invitation for another book in the series! Hurrah!

I think that Eagle Strike is brilliant for the action, suspense, explosive adventures, missions and interesting ending. Eagle Strike is the first book I read and it was much better than I expected. If you are a 10 year old hooked on video games and your mother tells you to read start with Alex Rider.

Eagle strike is the latest and best adventure in the gripping Alex Rider series. This time, daring teenage spy, Alex Rider must infiltrate popstar and human rights campeigner Damien Cray. It begins quite suddenly when Gregorrovich attacks Alex's friend Sabina Pleasure. Alex has 90 minutes to save the world with no MI6 and nothing but a bike and cycle gear. It has even more chases, action and adventure than it's prequels plus a auprising twist at the end. Eagle strike has to be the best book Ive ever read and I would recommend this book to anyone who likes action and adventure!

This is the fourth book in the series about Alex Rider, the teenager who is a reluctant spy for MI6. However, this book moves away from the established formula, as Alex must work without the aid of MI6, to avenge an attack on his best friend's family. I loved every aspect of this book. The lead villain, Sir Damian Cray, is delightfully twisted, and has a penchante for murdering people in highly unorthodox ways. There are some terrific action scenes (such as a sesuence where Alex is forced into a bullring as a matador, as well as a bicycle chase through the streets of Amsterdam), and Horowitz never lets the pace slow down, even for a second. The plot is also enthralling, making the book truly un-putdownable. The tension is high throughout, and there is also a large twist at the very end of the story that will leave the reader gobsmacked. It is recommended that you read the prequels first, but for fans of he series, this book is truly unmissable. Roll on book 5, and congratulations to Anthony Horowitz for such a marvellous series.

This book is amazing! After the first three you think it can't get any better but, wow how does Anthony Horowitz do it! You can't put it down just like the rest of them! It ends with a cliffhanger (of course) which leads it cleverly into the next book! The entire series is brilliant! But one minor warning: YOU WILL NEVER PUT IT DOWN 'TILL YOU'RE FINNISHED!

My brother took all of the Alex Rider books on holiday to France, and I barely glanced at them, thinking they were about boys and shoot-ups. It was only when my own supply of books ran out that I looked at the blurb of the first one, Stormbreaker, and after lying on the beach for a couple of hours I finished it and wanted more. Eagle Strike is by far the best, where young Alex is once again forced by the MI6 to go on another mission. Anthony Horowitz uses wit, action and a brilliant plot to write a fabulous book, involving the kidnap of Alex's friend, Sabine Pleasure, a mad celebrity who decides that killing people is the answer and a young hero who saves the world.

Wow! Having just finished Eagle Strike in under 6 hours i am yet again extremely impressed with Anthony Horowitz. Normally when authors write in series their books tend to get a bit repetative, but not with Alex Rider. The book begins with Alex holidaying in the South of France with his friend Sabina Pleasure and her parents, however, a suspicious "gas leak" that seriously injuries Edward Pleasure (Sabina's Father) immediately arouses Alex's curiosity. For once Alex is not being blackmailed or forced to investigate by MI6 but is taking the initiative to investigate the universely popular celebrity - Damian Cray because he is convinced Cray was behind the suposed "gas leak". This book also reintroduces Yassen Gregorovich, the infamous contract killer from Stormbreaker, who in turn adds some very interesting twists to the plot by reavealing some very disturbing information to Alex at the climax of the book. I will not reveal any more but will add that this book surpasses the previous three in originality, ingenious gadgets, as well as humour, wit and suspense. It is a must read for anyone from 12 plus and i highly recommend!
