An excellent read and a real page-turner!
I have read all the previous three books and thoroughly enjoyed them. They are implausible, ridiculous and hugely exciting to read. They really are the reinvention of James Bond for the modern teenager, with all the boring bits taken out.
The action, as in all the books, is fast and furious and there is never a dull moment, which is good for children with short attention spans and an endless need for car chases and fight scenes.
In this book, Alex comes up against a scary mad man as an adversary, and bumps into his old enemy Yassen Gregorivich, whose mysterious behaviour throws Alex into a deeper mystery than the one he started to solve initially.
There are a few wonderful plot twists in this story which make you desperate to read on. I am looking forward to reading book Five
Alex Rider finds himself going off on his own mission! Alex sees an old friend hanging around in France and knows there is something up, what's Yassen doing in France? So he investigates, by himself, but a old friend gives him a few gadgets to help him track down the man who Alex suspects is planing evil, Damian Cray. also Alex comes face to face with Yassen and is made to fight in the bullring!
Alex's girlfriend is unfortunately used as bait in an attempt to get something from Alex and Alex discovers the unfortunate truth about a dead family member.
I recommend this book to 10-16 as there is a sad death at the end and a lot of violence and names of drugs!
Buy it you'll love it, like I did!!!
It has so many twists and turns there was no predicting what was going to happen
Overall a amazing book and I seriously recommend the entire series
Can't wait to read
the next book
They say that after three books in a series, there is a difficult fourth album, but AH has worked his magic with this one!
We now plan on buying more story books written by this fantastic author!
