HASH(0x991f3774) out of 5 stars Strong, Handy, Stable 6 July 2013

This bag has the convenience of being lightweight (5 pounds 13 oz) before adding 1 item and it doesn't sacrifice quality or features to do it.

This is my 3rd Eagle Creek bag because I travel often and EC stands up to considerable abuse and use. The Load Warrior 22 is a carry on bag made for ease of handling, lifting, pulling, packing and convenient last second additions (coats, shopping bags etc). It can be small and lightly packed or expanded to the size of a small car. (Ok, that's a stretch, but it can hold a surprising load and still maintain its status as a carry on).

It has 4 handles (top, side, bottom, front) for picking it up no matter how it's presented without re-positioning it. It rolls over any hard surface with ease including bumping up and down stairs. I don't coddle my travel equipment. It's got to stand up to rough handling, extreme weather and airport baggage handlers.

The telescoping handle rises and falls with slippery ease and I like how it maneuvers. My old EC goes with me everywhere and after 8 years is still like new. How is that possible? I consider EC an ultimate good value. I don't have any problem with it tipping over as another reviewer mentioned. It depends on how you pack it like all bags but maybe more so with an ultra light like the Load Warrior 22.

HASH(0x9982c6d8) out of 5 stars This is a well designed, quality piece. 18 Dec. 2013
By NDM - Published on Amazon.com
I have had a slightly older version of this bag for almost a decade. Bought it for long weekends visiting kids at college, but found I prefer it over my regular luggage. I use it constantly. It still looks great, the telescoping handle mechanism functions smoothly, the weight is carried low, the wheels are sturdy, the zippers don't jam, the mesh is strong and flexible, the compression straps on the outside keep everything snug, it's easy to slide things in and out without opening the bag, and it's bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside. It fits overhead or even under the seat without fuss. The frame is plenty strong: I frequently piggyback other items, such as a briefcase, on top. other travelers often comment,"Nice bag."

I used to pack huge suitcases in case I 'needed' a different color pants. I decided that being bogged down carting my possessions around defeats the purpose of travel. Now I pick a color scheme and pack multifunction pieces. I've spent two weeks in Europe in winter and 10 days in New Zealand - where its a different season every day - with just this little guy.

HASH(0x9a05fc9c) out of 5 stars Love this bag! 31 Mar. 2013

I travel about 100k miles a year domestically. I was looking for something durable and lightweight, yet small enough to fit easily in overhead bins. So far I have been on 3 trips. The bag easily fits a full week of clothes ( including gym shoes). So far I have been very happy with the purchase.

HASH(0x991f3ba0) out of 5 stars Eagle Creek is at the Top of My Luggage List--They Deliver! 28 Oct. 2014

Bought this for size and structure. I've heard a lot of good things about Eagle Creek and decided to splurge a bit due to traveling a good deal and needing to get some luggage that would meet my needs. Went to Asia for a week using just this bag and laptop backpack and a purse (including extra shoes and toiletry bag) and it was perfect lots of space if packed strategically. Stable, meaning when you're looking for your passport, boarding pass, etc...you don't have to balance it against anything, but for me better than the rollers, which I really dislike. Keep in mind this isn't a recommendation for someone who needs to take several changes of everything just in case, gotta be ready to wear the same thing a couple of times (separates are the idea). The clips on the side help to compress the bag a good deal and best of all...drum roll please...when you're waiting at the baggage claim guess who doesn't have to check the tag to see which bag is yours.

I've taken this bag with me on a few trips and except a few scuffs it's holding up really well. Haven't tried to take it on board with me yet. Size-wise it should be fine to carry-on, but since air carriers like to change their rules without notice on what size of bag is acceptable, who knows. But the dimensions as given are correct for a carry-on.

I'm officially in love with Eagle Creek though--they deliver. Not inexpensive, but getting a good piece of luggage is an investment and I made a good one this time.

July 2016: Just an update, I've been traveling regularly with this bag since my original review, the bag is still in excellent condition and can be used as carry-on. Unfortunately, Eagle Creek is no longer selling these more colorful bags and has gone to more drab colors and has altered the design a bit, seems they've widened some of the pockets and other features. Haven't bought any of the new designs, but highly disappointed by the color change. But still love this company's products.

I use this bag for a variety of travel - weekends away and longer air travel. Its light and easy to pack. i don't want a lot of compartments - this has just the right amount - one large pocket outside of the bag and a mesh bag for personal items. I like the look of it too. i have an older Eagle Creek - for 15 years. Just recently they repaired the handle, replaced the wheels and a strap - all for free.
