A solid card for 1080p and does very well for my 1440p. If you are playing at 1080p you don't need anything else. This is incredibly good value for money in my opinion however the reason I am only giving this 4 stars is because of very dodgy advertising where nvidia states that this card has 4GB of VRAM, however due to the architecture of the card 500MB of this is very slow. nvidia stated this was a problem with their marketing however still continue to advertise it in this way.

Arrived installed worked fine. Then after 6 months noticed some glitches when playing videos. Checked temps, drivers etc., all fine. Change it out for another video card I had a GTX 760 and that worked fine. So had to get a replacement. Amazon where fine and good in that respect. So will let you know how long the new one last.
Update: Installed the replacement card and had some glitches again on some H-264 files. Spent hours checking all manner of things including codex and power supply. Came to the conclusion it is that video cards problem, as replacing it with the GTX 760 all file play fine.
Yes the GTX 970 card is faster and better, but the problem with H-264 files is its bad point for me, as I use that format for video files.
Update 2: Upgraded to windows 10, then had to install some thing all over again and hey presto the video card works ok without glitches. I had already tried another operating system so it wasn't that. Anyhow works! Anyone else having problems like this with this card, you need to
install Codex to solve the problem. For anybody having problems playing some videos in Media player with the GTX 970, use the driver 353.62 from Nvidia. that's the one that worked for me.

Once I put the card into my PC the software setup was incredibly easy (download the drivers and overclocking utility from the website because the disk is outdated) and once that was finished I was away. This card performs better than I expected it's almost silent at full load and uses a lot less power than my previous card. Easily enough power to play any modern game at at least 60fps or more. I would recommend this card to anyone.

Just a heads up! This card was released in September 2014. EVGA released a different version in December 2014, the GTX 970 SSC with improved ACX 2.0+ cooling. However the SSC version is a good inch longer, so if space is an issue best stick to this original SC card. If you have the room, just be aware that that there are different versions available. The EVGA website lists them all, so may be worth a look. Currently EVGA are offering a free upgrade to a five-year warranty (from the normal 3 years) when you register a card with them. EVGA are well known for their excellent support, and their step-up program means you can upgrade a qualifying card to a newer / higher spec card within 90 days of purchase, which gives some peace of mind if you are worried about buying a card only to find a better one is released a month later!

This card is still a flagship card.
Until something better comes along, i can't really see anything else i'd want.
I was AMD for many years but with my new pc build i decided to go nvidia and glad i did.

The performance of this card is unreal, it truly is a BEAST.
Very quiet, cool and looks cool in the case! it's not to bulky either.

Very good price, plus at the time of writing i get the divison for free... bargain!

Almost had this for a year now (1 year in April 2016), as it was an upgrade from an already good card (GTX 750Ti) I'm fairly impressed with its performance. It's a shame the card is voltage locked though, I like to put my hardware to the limits :) But other than that, it's a fantastic card, almost every game I've played can be maxed @ 60FPS. But even the ones that don't, they're still playable! As an easiest I expect nothing less than 60FPS. But I'm glad to say this card ca hold it's self up in most titles.

And that's why I'm back here again, I was just looking at the price because I'm thinking about getting a second for SLI!
