Safe on icy pavements

I've only worn these once so I'm not sure of their longevity, but I can say without question that they are amazing. I took the dog for a walk an hour before these arrived on icy streets and I slipped and skidded the whole way. Taking her out again this evening with the grips on, and the pavements were even icier, I had absolutely no problems with the ice. It was an awkward feeling, not being used to them, but after a few minutes it felt natural enough and the ice was no concern. They stretch over my shoes fine but they're a little loose on my partner's shoes who's at the bottom end of the size guide for the large ones we bought, but all in all they are comfortable and safe to walk with. My only concern is the durability of the studs but they come with 10 extra studs and I've now bought 100 extra studs (also from amazon) just in case! They are noisy when you walk, but for safety on the ice that's something I can put up with!

Firstly, these things grip very well on anything, thin ice/frost over pavements, slush, full-on ice/snow.

Now, while I can see these lasting while walking on snow or thick ice, on the pavement, these will not last not much than a few trips. I probably walked 2km and I lost 2 studs and the plastic is all damaged at the bottom. For the amount I need to use these each year, I can probably buy one for the year, but if I were doing anything more than that I would have to look for a better option.

I bought this product for a muddy hike abroad as I could only pack trainers and not hiking boots. Size S for a size 5 trainers fit snug which was perfect as I didn’t want them sliding off. On the path which was not muddy they felt like football shoes on solid ground but in mud/snow they offer extra grip so can be taken on and off as when needed. I would recommend if you’re worried about slipping in trainers.

These do work well and stop you slipping in the ice and snow, but they move about in your shoes and can sometimes come completely detached which is obviously not ideal plus if you don’t notice right away then that’s you lost it. I bought two pairs one for my son and one for me and used the size charts provided. After around a week, one of my pair snapped completely making it unusable.

I have used these grippers for many years, they are a game changer in snow and icy conditions. They can literally save you from serious injury. They last and are easy to put on and take off.
If you only occasionally have bad weather they are still worth every penny.
