I bought this product to support a sprained thumb which is already arthritic and was exceptionally painful on the joint at the base of the thumb going down the thumb 'pad' to the wrist. Indeed the product was just what I was looking for giving both relief and protection from 'over working' it. My only complaint is that the top velcro around the thumb isn't quite long enough to cover the base velcro leaving a gap at the end - particularly if the pad of the thumb is swollen as mine was. This means that it does 'catch' on clothing/tights etc, sometimes anoyingly plucking these items and picking up fluff leaving it quite scruffy looking. However, thumb supports are not easy to find and this product does do the job.

I have de quervain's tenosynovitis in my right wrist and have tried several splints to help with this condition. This is the best one I have had so far, and it's a very good price. It gives very good support/immobilisation to the thumb which is important in treating tenosynovitis. It also doesn't cover the palm so is much cooler to wear and I have found it surprisingly comfortable to wear. NOTE: the photo on website and packaging shows the product in a light beige colour, but it DOES state in the technical details that it is available in BLACK only. I'm very pleased with it.

This item does what it is designed to do but is not the most comfortable wear. I have to wear mine with an elastic bandage underneath and padding on the thumb to stop it rubbing and causing blisters. It does, however stop me from moving my thumb in such a way as causes pain!

This support has a removable metal strip running along the outside of the thumb and the side of the wrist, which has given my thumb the support to enable me to sleep at night. I would suggest buying two as it takes a few hours to dry after washing, and if you need one you may not like to go without it.

have found this product very helpfully, as its now the first thing i reach for when my thumb starts playing up. The only down side was how long it took to get to me, I was quoted 3-5 days standard but it took nearly 2 weeks to get to me. but otherwise very happy.

Yes this is what I wanted in our area the NHS only provides one pair of supports so I needed a new one which I use for my right hand so I could wash the other.Read more
It's a con. It's a convoluted version/ cheap rip-off of another product on Amazon (looks similar) but does not work. Save your money!
A little to large and cumbersome. but it does the job. I have only used once last night and my thumb was much better this morning.Read more
