I am a nurse working in acute medicine, with an interest in cardiology. I've tried numerous times to get my head around ECG interpretation but as I don't get the chance to look at them on a daily basis I always struggled to remember what is learnt. This book, in addition to its two follow up books, is excellent and has finally helped me remember and understand what I am looking at. The ECGs themselves are almost always 12 leads (not just return strips) and are very clear and easy to read, and each concept is explained so well - it is easy to see why it is in its 8th edition. Highly recommended to anyone starting to learn ECG interpretation (get The ECG in Practice and 100 ECG problems too - there is a small amount of repetition but they complement each other very well)

Medical Student (4th Year).

Until I read this book, the ECG was just a bunch of squiggly lines. I'm not an expert, but now I understand what some of the squiggly lines mean.

If you're struggling with ECGs or just want some tips/refresher, this book is the way to go. Lots of content but small enough for your backpack on wards.

I am a retired medical practitioner. I have studied ECGs and taught medical students for years. This book is *the* standard text for learning about ECGs. If you need to know them because you're a medical student/doctor/nurse/pathology collector/etc, buy this book and read it. There is no substitute. It is mercifully short and bereft of waffle.

You can, of course, stop reading once you've learned as much as your profession requires. But if you get to the end and want more, there are two other books in the same group.
