Product Description

Dyson DC41
Dyson DC41 Animal Dyson Ball upright vacuum cleaner for pet owners
Technical details:
  • Patented Radial Root Cyclone technology for no loss of suction. DC41 Animal captures allergens and expels cleaner air. Dyson cyclones can capture particles down to 0.5 microns – including pollen, mould and bacteria.
  • Strong suction power at the cleaner head. The cleaner head self-adjusts for optimal contact – even on hard floors.
  • Ball technology – turns on the spot. Manoeuvres easily around furniture, obstacles and into difficult places.
  • Lightweight and durable. Less weight and bulk.
  • 5 year guarantee – parts and labour are covered.

DC41 Animal is a Dyson Ball upright vacuum cleaner for powerful all-round dirt and pet hair removal.

The machine’s cleaner head has an active base plate, which self-adjusts automatically for optimal contact with all floor types. On hard floors the base plate lowers to create an efficient seal, and the brush bar lifts clear of the floor to protect delicate surfaces. On carpet the base plate rises and the brush bar lowers for optimum bristle penetration – removing ground-in dirt and pet hair from different depths of carpet pile. And because the cleaner head adjusts automatically, there are no fiddly dials and you don’t need to bend down to make adjustments.

Dyson cyclones capture more dirt than any other cyclone. DC41 Animal has Radial Root Cyclone technology with remodelled airflows to maximise suction power. It also comes with a Mini turbine head to clean pet hair and dirt from confined spaces, upholstery, stairs and the car.

DC41 Animal also has patented Ball technology. It turns on the spot, which allows you to manoeuvre more easily around obstacles and into awkward spaces. And because the motor and other key technologies are located in the ball, there are fewer components on the outside of the machine. This makes it easier to steer closer to edges.

Dyson DC41
Patented Dyson technology

Dyson engineers are constantly testing and inventing, trying to find new ways to make their technology work better. As they work, they file patent applications to protect their inventions from copycat manufacturers. That’s why the only place you’ll find Dyson technology is inside a Dyson machine.

DC41 Animal uses the following patented Dyson technologies:
New Radial Root Cyclone technology

Ordinary vacuum cleaners rely on bags to trap dust and dirt. As you use them, the tiny holes in the bag clog up with particles of dust. This restricts the flow of air, so the vacuum cleaner loses suction.

Dyson vacuum cleaners don’t rely on bags to trap dust and dirt. They use cyclone technology, which spins the air at incredibly high speeds. The cyclones inside a Dyson vacuum cleaner generate centrifugal forces many thousands of times the force of gravity. Dust, dirt and pet hair are flung out of the airflow and straight into the bin. No bag. No loss of suction.

Dyson has been continually refining cyclone vacuum technology since inventing it more than 20 years ago. DC41 Animal has new Radial Root Cyclone technology. Reconfigured air channels and improved flow efficiency reduce turbulence and preserve air pressure, so that the inner cyclones can extract more microscopic particles. These refinements help remove more dirt, dust, allergens and pet hair from the airflow.

Ball technology to help you steer with ease

Dyson Ball upright vacuum cleaners use patented Ball technology to overcome the steering limitations of fixed wheels. They ride on a ball, which turns on the spot so you can steer with ease, changing direction with just a turn of the wrist.

The ball itself is made of glass-reinforced polypropylene – the same material used in the manufacture of car dashboards. It combines high impact strength with resistance to distortion. The ball also holds the heaviest component (the motor) – positioned towards the base for a lower centre of gravity and greater stability.

Dyson DC41
DC41 Animal includes:
Self-adjusting cleaner head

Many upright vacuum cleaners use fixed settings and their cleaner heads don’t self-adjust to different floor types. And the bigger the gap between cleaner head and floor, the more suction power is wasted.

DC41 Animal has an active base plate. It creates the optimal cleaner head contact for every floor type, reducing air leaks and retaining suction power on all floor types – wood, carpet, vinyl and tile.

Mini turbine head to remove pet hair from awkward spaces

Pet hair can gather in awkward spaces and get stuck on upholstery. The Mini turbine head attaches to the machine’s wand to remove hair from confined spaces that would otherwise be hard to reach.

Instant release wand

DC41 Animal has an instant release, long reach wand for cleaning stairs and awkward areas – it stretches up to 5 times in length. There are no separate parts to assemble.

Extra tools

DC41 Animal comes with a Combination tool and a Stair tool. The Combination tool has a debris nozzle that converts to a brush tool for dusting. The Stair tool removes dirt and dust from corners and against vertical edges of stairs.

Captures allergens, expels cleaner air

Dyson cyclones capture microscopic particles down to 0.5 microns in size, including pollen, mould and bacteria.

Clear bin lets you see when it needs emptying

The bin on a Dyson vacuum cleaner is transparent so you can see when it needs emptying – and just how much dust, dirt and pet hair your new Dyson machine has picked up.

No extra costs

Other vacuum cleaners are still designed to need replacement bags and filters – and the cost soon adds up. Over 5 years, you could end up having to spend £175. Dyson vacuums don’t have bags and have lifetime washable filters, so there are no extra costs to worry about.

5 year parts and labour guarantee

Your Dyson vacuum cleaner is likely to take a few knocks and bashes during everyday use – but that’s nothing compared to what Dyson puts its machines through during testing and development. All Dyson vacuum cleaners undergo a lengthy and rigorous testing programme. That’s why DC41 Animal comes with a free 5 year guarantee – parts and labour.

I have to first declare I am a huge dyson fan. I had the DC4 when it first came out 10 years later I bought a DC15 and now 12 years on have just bought a DC41 Mk2. The service you get with these machines is exceptional. I have just had the DC15 serviced by Dyson for £79 and it's almost as good as new and has a years warranty. We wanted a 2nd vacuum so one would depart to uni with my daughter. Choice was easy it had to be a Dyson. 5 years in house warranty by engineers that turn up when they say and everyone is helpful and goes above and beyond. I really wanted to do another 5 star review but I cant. I'll start with what they got right. The hose wand is so easy to pop out and pop back. Much better than the DC 15. The machine is lighter. The machine has a ton more suction, but maybe too much. The cable length is better at 9 meters v 7 meters. You don't have to press down a lever with your foot to get it in sweep.
BUT
You clip the tools on the wand. Now you have to fiddle about trying to press the button to release the tool. Why? In years and years of hoovering I can't think of a tool coming off the end of a wand, ever! This is just annoying.
The ball isn't a ball anymore it's two half balls. Steering is not nearly as good as you end with "drag" from the middle. It may be lighter by a kilo but you have to fight to turn this just as much due to the half balls.
The suction is so powerful you have no hope with mats the Dyson just sticks to them like glue. It also means you are fighting against the suction when pushing along, all more effort. When you engage the turbo suction on the front it gets even worse. It's too powerful.
To make it lighter the bin is smaller so you have to empty more frequently.

This is my fourth Dyson since the original bagless cleaner appeared and it is, for me, the Rolls Royce version. I was sceptical of the ball technology but it is much more manoeuvrable than I expected and it lifts collie hairs from carpets and furniture so easily. The 'beater off' switch is in a sensible place and can be reached without bending down - unlike my old 05 and the attachments are very functional. The dust cylinder is smaller than on older versions but it's not an great inconvenience.

Very glad I bought it.

This is an excellent vacuum cleaner and is very good for pet hairs, I am also very pleased with the Multi-Floor aspect, it works far better than I expected, if I'm honest. Like some others, I have found it a little more difficult to manoeuvre, compared to my previous roller-ball. I have found however, that turning down the suction resolves this. The design of the nozzle attachment is much better, far less likely to get clogged up, like the last one did, and I also prefer the way it comes apart to use the extension pipe for stairs etc. It does feel a little flimsier than the last one, I guess time will tell on that...

Not totally loving this one! The very good is the fact that my old lightweight dyson had packed up immediately before Christmas an absolute nightmare as we were having a real house full of people including 3 very young children over the Christmas period. However ordered this on the 20th and despite a delivery date being at new year it was delivered by the 23rd! Thank you that was brilliant. The vacuum it self has extremely good suction is well made and this actually being our four dyson you can tell that we really like this make! Our first was the dc01 and probably was as far as we're concerned the best. What I am finding with this one is it's extremely heavy and not the best maneuverability because of this, it is fantastic in that it picks up everything but because I had the smaller lighter one previously I am finding this one pretty heavy going.Have decided to have my oldlight one rrepaired and use that one for the stairs and top level of the house as this new one is horrendous to carry up and down . However for the ground floor carpets and hard flooring this one is very good just heavy! Would suggest for an older person this is not the right one and would go for the smaller lighter one.

Have always been a Dyson fan. Had the original DC01 and then a DC04 animal (I think) and loved them so had no hesitation in paying the hefty price tag for this thinking - you get what you pay for. I have struggled with it for around 6m waiting to fall in love with it but I am no so disillusioned that I have been and bought a Vax animal at £80 - much better suction, much easier to empty, doesn't clog up, doesn't fall over and is made of sturdy plastic like the earlier Dysons not the flimsy bendy stuff the DC41 is made of.I feel let down by Dyson and have sung their praises for years but not now :( My husband, my mum and my son have also used the Dyson on several occasions and they don't like it either.

Gosh - whatever happened to Dysons?!? This is cheaply built, plasticky, the head blocks frequently and it really hard to disassemble and it hates staying upright... I could go on about how bad it is, but it depresses me as they used to be amazing. Anybody any suggestions for a vacuum cleaner to do large areas of carpet, frequented by lots of dogs and will the bonus of a real fire (coal and wood dust.)?!?! I have written to Dyson complaining, but got absolutely no response. It really is appalling.
