I found this a really great overview of dyslexia that helped me to gain an understanding of the condition. It describes dyslexia in simple language which made it easy to understand - a nice change! A really good starting point for anyone affected by dyslexia in any way.

I think this book is really aimed at American parents with pre-school children with Dyslexia who cannot read. My daughter is 10, has an above average reading age and only very mild 'Spelling Dyslexia', so much of the advice relating to 'inclusion' in mainstream American schools etc. was completely irrelevant. However, some of the explanations of common traits of this and other learning disabilities were useful.

This book gives a lot of useful tips and information, very good for a parent who is just finding out about their child or if they think their child could be dyslexic. It encourages you to be more inquisitive and confident in helping your child. This would also be good for teachers to keep in the staff room as it is a short book it might give some an insight as to what a dyslexic child has to cope with.

Having read several books and papers on this subject as a parent of a dyslexic child I found this book to be of great help in understanding the condition. The past few years have been challenging and any help and advice is well received. I passed this book around my family so the grandparents and aunties and Uncles could get some understanding of dyslexia too.

Very informative as not many understand what Dyslexia is and when you hear that word you go in a panic but really there are ways and means that you can help your child overcome this and this book does exactly that.
