After committing suicide you go to the Station, a place where you get the option to move on and go somewhere else or help others who are thinking of taking their own life by merging with their conscience and trying to help them make better decisions regarding their life.
It was hard to read at some parts; hearing about what had happened to the people she merged with as well as her own story, but it was a really interesting story and I cant wait to continue the series. The ending has got me all riled up wanting to know what happens next?!?!
Really enjoyed this book .
I have given this book five stars as I said it gave me comfort in a time of sorrow.
The book is well written and the story flows nicely. Many thanks to the Author, she has tackled a very traumatic subject.
Poor Piper! You are thrown in at the deep end with this book right from the first few pages. You can' help but feel her pain and sorrow from the way it has been written and described by the author. Her first choice leads her to the Station and her hero/rock Niles. But not all is as it seems and Piper must make another huge choice once more. You think all is well and she is adjusting to her new surrounds only for something to completely change everything....THEN BOOK 1 ENDS! WHAT? REALLY? OH COME ON!!! Safe to say book 2 will be downloaded shortly as you cannot leave it there. Told you it was addictive!
For what I would call a fairly new author she captivates the reader very quickly and draws you into this well described and somewhat life like literary world. You can't help but root for more than one character but I get a feeling there will many bumps in the road along the way for each of them. The only point that I was diappointed with was the balance/pacing of the book - it felt rushed and while not impacting on the story in a general sense it would have been great to get to know Abby a bit more. It would have added a bit more to the story and taken it to an even greater level.
It is a joy to read and refreshing to see an author tackle a subject that is still pretty much taboo is society. Here's to book 2 :)
