Bold, Brash, Beautiful

Many years ago I always made it a habit of buying at least one classical album a month. I'd go through magazines like Stereo Review and buy one of their recommended titles. This recording (originally on a CBS Masterworks LP) earned a five star review and I immediately fell in love with its bold, beautiful, brash lines. Dvorak, both an incurable romantic and a devoted patriot, created symphonies rich in melody, passion, drive and power. His Seventh is no exception. Davis and The Philharmonia imbue the work with all the detail and intensity it deserves. If you know "Largo" (taken from his most popular work, the Ninth Symphony), then make the effort and get this Seventh. You'll find it to be one of the most underappreciated pieces of music you've ever heard.
