Product Description

Product Description

Jean Dujardin and Gilles Lellouche lead a starry cast in a comedy exploring the triumphs and failures of male infidelity in all its desperate, absurd and wildly funny forms. From a sales conference hotel in the suburbs to a smart sex addiction clinic, from a swish Parisian nightclub to the glitzy meat market of Las Vegas, the protagonists launch themselves into the age old pursuit. Every timeworn excuse is proffered; every trick in the book is played.

Witty and moving, honest and cynical, hope beats eternal in the lusting male heart, but the road to illicit pleasure is never an easy one...

I had really high hopes for this film; i adore Gilles Lellouche and was very impressed with Jean Dujardin in both The Artist and the OSS films. However, this film doesn't hang together very well: It is a series of stories about a range of characters, played by the two male leads, all dealing with the theme of male infidelity. This sounds promising, but ends up being a bit of a mess. It didn't work very well as a comedy, nor did it offer enough insight into the issue to be a serious piece.
The acting, at least, was quite good - the two guys looked like they were having a ball while filming and both are attractive and charismatic.
So, if you're after something light (but not overly-funny) featuring two good-looking Frenchmen, then this is for you. Otherwise, i'd say give it a miss.

Very funny and ironic and yet at times quite moving, this is a brilliantly observed film made up of a number of vignettes that are all, and without exception brilliantly made.

Superb acting from the two main actors (Jean Dujardin and Gilles Lellouche) and from all the cast. Each episode has its own style and each one has a different director. Great music and photography throughout.

This is a film I could (and will most probably) watch again and again, as it is brilliantly observed and very clever, very funny, very moving – superb can’t recommend it highly enough.

On the DVD you get:

This film, made up of eight sketches without purpose or connection, had me slapping my forehead. It purports to show us how wi-i-i-i-ildy funny and HILARIOUS infidelity is but could easily be an examination of the lead actors' mid-life crises, extensively documented here. There is lots of fraternité and liberté for the male characters but not much egalité in the poorly-written misogynistic skits. The final vignette, with its totally bonkers concluding scene, must be one of the most ill-conceived ever committed to celluloid. I wonder why Guilleme Canet gets so many of his half-baked film larks indulged? At least his mates get to have fun. Not sexy, not funny, not clever. My only lasting impression is how much Dujardin is beginning to resemble Ricky Gervais. Avoid unless watching ironically.

This is one of those episodes movies: actually six short stories with just two things in common (a) they are all about being unfaithful and (b) they are played by the two main actors, who play different characters in each story.

The stories are uneven: some are funny, some fall flat; and some are profound dramas, with nothing humorous about them. Overall, an interesting film to watch as a couple and with other couples, in order to discuss afterwards... But beware! Huge fights are likely to entail.

What I enjoyed the most was Jean Dujardin's versatility: he can be so charming playing one character and a complete jerk playing another; he is equally convincing as a "macho-man" and as an effeminate gay. Great acting; and Gilles Lelouche was also very good.

I thought this was going to be a proper film and i really like both the main comedy actors. But this is more a series of sketches they have dreamed up. It's mildly humerous in places, but wasn't one of my favourite purchases.

This brilliant French comedy the Players is a mischievous and dazzling story of male infidelity.

The magical sex addiction clinic is hilarious with a witty, sizzling, female sex counsellor. Who illustrates the absurd, desperate antics of would be womanisers to a group of current wannabe seducers.

Settings are flashy in opulent Parisien nightclubs and sparkling Las Vegas.

The main theme is to get laid as often as possible.

This is sexual fun for all.

I went for this because it had Jean Dujardin in it after having seen him in 'The Artist' - this wasn't very good
