5.0 out of 5 stars Duty: Suspense and mystery stories from the cold War and beyond 21 Oct. 2012
By Ivor Burton - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Soldiers have a story to tell, not always of heroism but of the uncertainty that is part of their trade. No one knows what comes next, or even how they got in their circumstance. This is a suspense laden book that is filled with stories that will take you there.
Martin Hill's extensive, military and literary, background allows him to present a unique
perspective into this largely unknown area that is filled with mystery and suspense.
5.0 out of 5 stars Short and Excellent 23 Nov. 2014
By E. L. Sapp - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
The short stories in this book go to the heart of what it means to serve. Most have plot twists that are so foreshadowed that the twist is lost, but that does not negate how touching the story is. I was rather disappointed when I turned the page on the last one and realized I had finished the book.
5.0 out of 5 stars Informative and entertaining read! 13 Dec. 2012
By Edwin D'Souza - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Martin Roy Hill has produced a collection of gripping short stories dealing with the military and espionage.
Hill -- author of the military mystery thriller "The Killing Depths" -- uses his military experience to create vivid scenes and sometimes tragic storylines. An informative and entertaining read on a Saturday afternoon! I give it five stars.
4.0 out of 5 stars Touching 16 Feb. 2013
By A. Baker - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I don't usually read military novels, but the title caught my attention and I am not sorry I bought it. Duty is a collection of stories depicting tragedy, emotional turmoil and heroism as well as many other emotions. It contains situations that are delt with by military members and the stories kept me interested throughout the collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gripping Collection of Military Short Stories 7 Jan. 2013
By Jim Long - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Martin Roy Hill has created a gripping series of short stories which cover a wide range of emotions and life (and death) situations of our (USA) military men through time. This is an excellent read which takes only a few hours. Well done and much appreciated by this former serviceman.
