About the Author

I reside in the quaint town of Plainwell, MI with my husband and three little princesses. As a wife and mother, I keep myself busy with carpooling, volunteering, cleaning, cooking, teaching, and watching the Disney Channel way more than I ever imagined. 4.0 out of 5 stars Unique spin on mythological suspense! 26 Aug. 2013

Being the mom of a college sophomore I could relate to many aspects of this book. Sometimes the similarities to my daughter were almost "creepy". RL Stoll has written appealing characters in an easy to follow young adult fantasy. Not only was I rooting for Noelle, the main character, but also her roommate, Tempest, and her boyfriend Brett! It takes a little while for all the aspects to come together but once it does the rest of the book is fast paced and intriguing.

Noelle comes from a close knit family in a small town. She is intelligent, has high morals & strong character. She is a great role model for young women. This first book of 3 gives us all the background we need to soar into the realm of mystery & suspense as our protagonist learns more about her genealogy and what she can do to protect humans from the evil dating back centuries. Can't wait for book 2 - Keep Safe!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read looking forward to seeing where this story goes. 14 Oct. 2013

I enjoyed the book it grabbed my attention and held it from the first chapter. Admittedly this is not a genre I typically read and the author targets the book to a young audience. The book is not just well written with a compelling story. The attention to detail helps to build characters you can actually relate to. The authors ability to paint a virtual picture with her writing and storytelling is refreshing and will make it difficult for you to put the book down until finished.

This is a great book that reads fast and will leave you wishing the next book was available now. To the author I say bravo and write fast! A great first effort I am truly looking forward to what comes next.
5.0 out of 5 stars More, Please 12 Sept. 2013

I found out about this book on Facebook, as the author is my cousin's daughter-in-law. Since I'm a fan of urban fantasy and also YA fiction, I had to give the book a try. Dust to Flesh is well done, especially for a first novel. The characters are believable, and change as the plot unfolds. The setting of the University of Chicago is intriguing, and the references to Southwest Michigan are fun. Noelle's freshman student experiences ring true, at least as I remember my own college days many years ago. I enjoyed how the action unfolded, slowly revealing the supernatural elements. The book could stand on its own, but I'm glad to see that RL Stoll has already started the sequel.
5.0 out of 5 stars Dust to Flesh the Beginning of the End Book 1 24 Sept. 2013

I thought the author did an awesome job at writting this book. Noelle goes from a mild sheltered country girl to a grown up, big city, college girl. When they say college will change you, Noelle, find out more than anyone just how true that is. Remarkable night creatures, murder, suspense, mystery, it is all there. This is one of those books that you put your phone on off, curl up in a blanket and enjoy the book. I can't wait till book #2 comes out.
I must admit that I have spent my summers in this part of Michigan throughout my life. I am originally from Chicago south side. Loved it all. So buy a book and enjoy it.
4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining story 30 Aug. 2013

I think this is a very solid YA novel. Noelle is a good role model for young women, she is smart, has strong convictions and morals and is written in a realistic and engaging way. I enjoyed the story, it was an interesting spin on a mythological tale. The details seemed to mesh and were well thought out. Once I got started on the story, I finished it in one sitting and was surprised when I realized it had ended. I am looking forward to the second novel and finding out where Noelle's adventures take her.
