I've recharged several times now, so I think this takes me past the point of paying back the cost difference.
It's quite expensive to initially buy these, but over time it quickly becomes economical. Recommended,
Nothing more to say really. It works well with AA and AAA, the lights are obvious (red flashing = dud, red = charging, green flashing = 85% charge, green = fully charged), and it runs very cool. The unit looks nice too. Shiny with a smoked plastic lid, and the wall brick is styled to match.
This charger indicated the batteries are faulty if they are discharged beyond a certain point, and if you take out a fully charged battery out of the charger and put it straight back, the charger tells you that battery is now faulty.
Batteries that have been charged regularly in the 15 minute charger now will not charge in it at all, so I have had to bring my Ansman charger out of retirement. And will bin the 15 minute charger as soon as a replacement Energiser 1 hour charger arrives. If that does not work, then I will be getting a new Ansman slow charger, and make sure I have enough chargers to charge all batteries overnight.
The only other consideration is longevity - rechargeables do deteriorate over time (ie they gradually last less long between charges) - but I still have some (different brand) that last a perfectly adequate time (around 5 years so far I think?) in daily use (ie in my PC mouse, X-Box controller etc), so I'm not sure that's much of a consideration to be honest. As long as you have more rechargeables than you actually need for your devices you can have them in constant rotation and it's never a problem.
Posting and packaging were swift and perfectly adequate.
tldr: They're rechargeable batteries. I doubt there's much difference between the brands (MAh rating IS important though), and that bunny doesn't convince me otherwise. These seem fine to me though.
BUT - that charger is bleeding noisy! I'm not personally dissatisfied, as it'll be plugged in in a rarely used room. If you're plugging it in the lounge then it would definitely get on your wick, and it's far too loud to go in the bedroom overnight for instance.
