    These are undoubtedly the best rechargeable batteries I have ever bought. I had used my old rechargeables in my Olympus digital camera for years but after I bought a Canon, it proved to be more fussy and I started buying single use batteries again. I ran out of these a couple of months ago and thought "why not try these Duracell 2450 mAh rechargeables?". They worked perfectly and carried on working.

    I recently visited Spain and took eight of these batteries plus the recharger, just in case. I need not have worried, two weeks and 450 photographs later, I was still using the original two batteries with no sign of the camera's "Low Battery" indicator. The other six and the recharger returned unused.

    The one-hour dedicated recharger has been worthwhile as well. It comes with four batteries, two AA and two AAA. The AA batteries hold less charge than the 2450 mAh rechargeables reviewed here (1800 mAh, I think) and this has taught me another lesson: use the 2450 mAh rechargeables exclusively and stick with them. I say "dedicated recharger", it only claims to work with these Duracell rechargeables and that seems to be the case.

    All this has taken place over the last six months or so and I cannot vouch for the long term worth of these batteries but so far, I have bought several dozen and they have been used everywhere a AA battery is required, with absolutely no issues.

    I bought these batteries to use in a Fuji HS20EXR bridge camera. Took 400+ pictures in EXR mode (high battery drain) with maybe 50 using the built in flash before needing to swap them out. They could have taken even more pictures but the camera was warning that they were running low on charge and I didn't want to risk missing any photos. I highly recommend these batteries.

    Needed some rechargeable batteries for a reading light and decided to go with Duracell, since it is a fairly reputable brand. The price is fair and they last fairly long. Are they any better than other top brands? No, not really. They work just fine, but they don't excel in how long they last or how long they hold their charge, like most rechargeable batteries they will lose their charge over time, even when they are not in use (if you need a rechargeable batteries that hold their charge for a long time have a look at the Sanyo Eneloops).

    You should also keep in mind that since these, like almost all rechargeable batteries, only deliver a 1.2v charge instead of the 1.5v charge of their non-rechargeable counterpart. So while most lights, remotes and mice should work just fine with these, some appliances won't work with them (or any other rechargeable batteries).

    After using a digital camera more often I noticed that even when buying Duracell Ultra when on offer I was paying a lot for batteries. On average 4 Duracell Ultra AAs lasted one trip out with the camera of a few hours taking 200 photos or so. I bought a Duracell Battery ChargerBrand New. Duracell Multi Battery Charger 6-8hrs Capacity 8x AA or 8xAAA 4xC 4xD and 1x9V Batteries Ref 75044676 and 8 of these AAs (2400mAh) which I knew were high power and meant to last well in cameras. I was very surprised to find that they last much longer than I expected. The first four I have used has now been in the camera for 10-12 days and I have been out 3 times, a total of 5 hours use and taken 350 photos and 3 short videos too and still they are going - amazing!

    I am reliably informed by a relative with good electrical knowledge and experience that this type of battery reaches its best after the first 2 or 3 full charges/discharges and then continues at that high level for some considerable length of time, a year or two normally, before any noticeable decline in charge retention. If that proves to be true then these batteries may well be slightly better still after another two charges. They also cost only slightly more than 8 Duracell Ultra AAs!

    So far I am very impressed and I will update this review in a few weeks with confirmation as to how they perform.

    These batteries get five stars as they last and last and last. I bought both my son and my daughter bridge cameras for Christmas and they chewed through regular batteries within an hour. These batteries lasted a good five hours and have allowed us to go walking taking great shots that we would have missed otherwise. With the price of regular batteries these day being so high, it makes good financial sense to invest in rechargables, especially when in this case they cost about the same.

    They do take a while to charge and I found that they needed charging coming straight out of the pack but well worth it.

    These are the batteries that I have bought/use for all my remotes and other bits and bobs that run on AAs.
    I originally bought a set of these with a Duracell charger combined that allows me to charge 2 or 4 batteries at a time. I discovered by doing some elementary detective work on the internet that 2400 mAh were what I wanted/needed - and could afford. Originally I had no idea that there were different 'strengths' as it were - so if you see some ridiculously cheap rechargeable batteries out there, take a good look at the description - buy the higher strength mAh and you will be rewarded by your equipment running longer - although to be honest some of the toys etc. out there do run out as soon as you look at them! I know a work colleague who has 3 sets of 4xChargers and over 20 batteries that he is constantly re-charging! If you find yourself having to buy more and more standard AA batteries (which will be the case with the 'bargain' cheap ones) then rechargeables are the way to go - and personally, I prefer Duracell - but there are others out there! This message will self-destruct in 10 seconds...Better get recharging.. :)
