For those like me who think hydrocolloid dressings are fantastic this box of Duoderm is just right. many large high street chemists produce hydrocolloid dressings in preshaped sizes, with borders that don't stick and all the wrong sizes. These simple slabs that you can cut to shape and size are fantastic. The dressing will become soft if you bathe wearing it or wash up wearing it but to extend life of dressing wrap a bit of silk ribbon adhesive dressing tape around. For those not used to Hydrocolloid dressings they can be used for a wide variety of wounds where the bleeding has stopped but it may be exuding a little such as minor burns, cuts, grazes, scratches etc. I particularly use it for what I call gardening injuries where fingers get pricked by thorns and arms get scratched.

Always ensure areas are thoroughly washed and dried before applying dressing. These dressings inhibit bacterial growth underneath, so you are less likely to get little abcesses forming. Some of the dressing will dissolve under the dressing so that when you first remove it it will look yellow and nasty. Don't be misled. Wash off remaining dressing in running warm water and pat dry. Wait a moment before assessing. Healing is very fast using these dressings so although a box in itself is expensive you will use every scrap of dressing and will need less.

I am diabetic and have allergic reaction to a lot of the dressings and plasters, or they don't stay stuck on. These are great and you can cut them to the size and shape you want. I heal slowly and these help the healing process enabling a quicker healing time and less scarring.

This stuff really does what it says in the tin. My boyfriend had a nasty fall while racing and had various patches of road burn on legs and arms. These patches not only protect the area from clothing sticking to it but it healed his cuts within a week. Also very effective on deeper cuts.

Would recommend and will be stocking up on more

Bought to cover a skin graft on my husband's nose after he had a basal cell carcinoma removed. We hope the lump left after the graft may shrink over time but at the moment these dressings hide it very well and its not as noticeable as without. I have used a piece on a cut and it seemed to heal very quickly.

I have hade these dressing many times before I find them brilliant just recentley my wife and I returned from Turkey after a forteen days holiday my wife had got bitten by some type of bug tick I cannot say what, she came out in large baloon type blobs bright red round type bites we had plasters but they would not cover so we decided to put another dressing called Granuflex Hydrocolloid Dressings-Semi-Permeable these I used for an ulcer I had previously these would do until we could get home, having seen a Doctor she told us that the dressings being used are the right ones and now each bite has been cleared meaning all the bad stuff has been drawn out now and we are using Duoderm extra thin Hydrocollod Dressings for healing these also I have used previously and have found them brilliant less pain as when taken off the dressing does not stick ( very little ulcer clinic's use this type of dressing as they are too expensive for the NHS but I can tell you these are well worth the expence two years ago I was treated for a foot ulcer at an ulcer clinic IN Kent the dressing they used were Mepore no wonder I screemed when they were taken off as nine times out of ten they stuck to my wounds, all these dressing apart from (MEPORE) do not stick even after seven days the company who developed these dressing should be given a gold medal thank you very very much for developing these great Dressings. Regards Terence from Kent

I came across a recommendation for these types of dressings on a cycling website after I'd left unnecessary amounts of epidermis on a Greek mountain road, courtesy of a road bike, some gravel, and a car in the wrong place at the wrong time.
First impressions of the product is that the texture has a weird, pseudo skin feel and the colour is sort of a dark Caucasian - its a bit like getting a skin graft from Malibu Stacey. But the patches went on easily and immediately calmed some seriously unhappy exposed nerve endings, letting me get on with the things that make life worthwhile like exercising, showering and sleeping.
It seems counterintuitive to leave a dressing on for several days, but having recently peeled my first ones off I can say that the skin underneath has been transformed from a yukky gravel rashy mess to pink, smooth and healthy looking.
Should I ever be in the unfortunate position of suffering a similar injury (and I hope not), I'd certainly buy this product again.

I had this product ordered for tackling my grandmother's pressure ulcer in her left foot. It was very efficient, well tolerated and easy to apply. Moreover it had a very good price compared with similar products for pressure ulcers.

These are great for helping to knit back together wounds; which otherwise would have required some form of stitches. They act as a second skin, just simply place over the wound and you will visibly see healing in action. One word or caution; if placing on part of the body that is quite hairy, I would recommend shaving the area around the wound first, due to the ouch-ness akin to pulling a plaster or sellotape off your skin.I Highly recommend this product.
