A good read spoilt by the ending. I was expecting a epilogue to finish the story. I was very disappointed.

The story itself was well enough written with twists and turns. The characters were engaging and fairly believable. The reason I awarded only three stars was that after all the complications of the story, no reason was given for the dastardly deeds !

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

This is the second book about a member of the Sheldon family, Lady Madeline becomes embroiled and later married to Grey, Lord Carshalton, a man she is not even sure she likes through no fault of her own. Although the marriage was to protect her reputation it only served to put her own life in danger. It was easy to guess who the true villain of the piece was though unfortunately you don't get to know the full motive - perhaps an epilogue is required?
