I ordered this due to it being incredibly cheap at the time. I've played a lot of Duke Games, from Duke Nukem 3D to Time to Kill and Land of the Babes. I wasn't 100% whether to jump into this game which is why I avoided it for so long. After completing the game I really do think that this game is critically underrated. While not amazing or ground breaking it is definitely a fun game full of laughs, one liners and a sprinkle of puzzles here and there. A lot of reviewers complain about the game feeling dated and sure at times it does, the game has been through so much development hell its a wonder that it ever came out.
In length the game lasted me longer than your average shooter so the story has quite a generous length to it. In addition to this there are lots of things to collect and interact with in the game, such as finding objects that you can interact with or getting a high score at pinball in order to increase your ego meter which again add to the play time. Duke has undergone a modern FPS paint job, rather than relying on health packs and being able to hold a massive arsenal of weaponry you instead have a rechargeable health bar called an Ego meter and you are only able to carry 2 weapons at a time. This may be a let down for some Duke fans but for me it didn't effect the game hugely. The industry has changed drastically over the years so it was not a surprise to see the game undergo a modern makeover.
To people that liked the old Duke style of running and gunning I can't recommend Serious Sam enough, it will certainly scratch that itch as you have health packs, tons of enemies and have no weapon carry limit! This means you can quickly switch between the massive arsenal of weaponry in order to take down hordes of enemies rushing you.
To some up my review:
Decent game, heavily criticized by reviewers but its up to you to formulate your own opinion
Game does feel dated but consider its history
Lots of laughs, especially if you are a duke fan
Some modern features such as recharging health and a 2 weapon carrying limit may put people off
Serious Sam may be worth looking into if you fancy a more "old school" duke style game
Worth the money
Overall I give the game a 6/10. Like I said its not particularly ground breaking but it also is not a terrible game. Gearbox Software have the rights to Duke now, so in future we may be able to look forward to the King returing in style and overall look forward to a better and more polished game.

Let's start I got this game because Iam a Duke Nukem fan and saw my friend on it so I played it the levels is nice and big but they need to add more maybe and some classic's levels from Duke 3D but like updated really.They is some bad things that I do not like:1. The thing is you can only pick up two weapons at the time.2. The load screen after you do a level can take a bit of time to come back on.3. They is a shield that regains after hit just like a Halo game they is no life pick ups.This game is missing a lot from Duke 3D.
