I've increased the star rating as it can do the job if you have kept the packaging from your quadcopter. Heres a few pics of the rucksack with the packaging from a dpi phantom 3
I decided for the time being to go for a backpack designed for a drone as I knew it would be large enough for all my accessories and that the opening would be large enough that I could see everything at a glance.
This backpack is made of a strong nylon and offers loads of storage, on the front of the pack there is a large zipped pocket which measures nine inches wide by 12 inches deep, next is a zipped organiser compartment with a net zipped pocket this measures twelve inches deep by ten and a half inch wide, on the other side there are six pockets, a netted pocket which measures twelve inches wide by six inches deep, a zipped pocket which measures five inches by three and a half inches, next is two pockets for pens, a pocket that measures six inches by four and a half inches and a larger pocket that measures twelve inches wide by six inches deep.
The main backpack compartment has a zip that allows for you to open around eighty percent of the bag for easy access and a usable internal measurement of approx seventeen inches wide by twenty inches high and five inches deep.
The back of the backpack has the normal shoulder straps which have half a 5mm padding (adequate for carrying a drone) there is also two padded areas for your shoulder blades and a larger padded area which will go across the base of your back.Read more ›
The straps and zips all feel sturdy enough and although I haven't ever really hammered the bag (it does have a drone inside after all!) I feel confident it will last.
I haven't ever taken this bag out in the rain, but I suspect it will not be waterproof. If the cardboard insert from your original box got wet, I imagine that it might start to deform and not work so well, so I wouldn't recommend using this bag in anything but very light rain. Again, you probably wouldn't be flying your drone in the rain anyway!
You can pay more for slightly more compact, purpose made bags with padded interior (this bag is thin and has no padding) and I guess it depends on how much you use your drone. I use mine occasionally as a hobby and therefore this bag is exactly what I need. If you're a professional videographer who is out on shoots every day with your drone, you'll probably want something a little more padded and compact.
It's got plenty of space for the drone and packaging and a few extras too. I unpicked the drone icon badge which featured on the outside.
That leaves a space that I've filled with a plastic"Really Useful" type box (5 litre) to hold batteries, props etc.
Quite happy with it.

+ will carry a drone unprotected -
wish I had read the reviews before buying.
This back pack can hold accommodate a number of drones or other items in their original packaging.
Or you can insert foam blocks to suit your needs.
