It follows a young American rider who leaves her friends and home behind to go to train with a GP rider at her winter base in Florida.
It gives you an insight into what it takes to make the most of these working student positions (and how hard they have to work) at the same time contains a lot of useful training information and an interesting view of US dressage shows.
It doesn't have a complicated plot and the characters will probably develop further in the sequels, which I understand the Author has planned, but I'm sure anyone who loves dressage and reading will not be disappointed with this book.
The characters are all well written ( both human and horse) and exist in a well thought out and believable plot. I thoroughly enjoyed the read. I can ride, and have dabbled in dressage and the parts of the books that descibe the riding are so well done, that I felt I was in the saddle myself. I highly recommend this and the next 3 books... I wish there was a 5th...
I've started on book 2 already...
Also had a good story line and gives an insight into the american dressage scene and also the difference in routines and terminology of horse care.

However, this one thoroughly deserves every five star it's got, it's bloody brilliant. Made a long plane journey fly past (pun not intended). The characters are engaging and interesting, the storyline is fab, everything is relatively realistic and it captures well what it's like to get wrapped up in a yard and competition scene. I wish it was longer! Will definitely be buying the second one for my journey home, the only problem will be stopping myself buying it beforehand.

Could not put the book down, so well written must have been a very knowledgable dressage rider who wrote it. Very good story too.Published on 11 May 2013 by Mary Davies
A good easy read for anyone involved and loving dressage. More romance than equestrianism, but a relaxing and fun holiday read.Published on 8 Nov. 2012 by HB
