Being a huge Lois McMaster Bujold fan, I wanted this book to complete my collection of her Vor universe. I knew that it was made up of several short stories, only a few being even slightly relevant, but that was ok. Also her description of how she got into writing and selling her first few books is really interesting, I'd never known just what it took to write. So overall, considering that some of the stories are available in other collections, what is left is highly overpriced for what it is! There is nothing in it that will affect your Vor universe or leave any noticeable gaps if you don't buy this book. Only for die hard LMB fans!

It contains two novellas which have never been published before: "Dreamweaver's Dilemma", "The Adventure of the Lady on the Embankment" plus "Mountains of Mourning", three of Lois's previously uncollected short stories and four essays.

The book also includes an interview with Lois McMaster Bujold, a timeline of the Vorkosigan stories, genealogical notes, and other guides by the book's editor, Suford Lewis. The introduction is by Lois's childhood friend and writer Lillian Stewart Carl.

Interesting to get an insight into the writing process from the author. Plus a few stories pre-Vorkosigan Saga that point toward it. Highly recommended for any fan of Miles Vorkosigan.
