Our favourite book - Great board book with lovely illustrations
I originally bought the more detailed version of this book - so was excited to see what the baby book would be like. At first I was a little disappointed as although the illustrations were beautiful I thought the text was a bit simple and didn't provide much information. However, I quickly realised that this makes it ideal for a small child - whose attention span wouldn't want a more detailed book. It has fast become my daughters favourite book - we have many books including classics like the hungry caterpillar but this is the only one that really captures her attention. She loves the illustrations and the amount of text means you spend an appropriate length of time on each page. I also think the succinct summaries of each person will make this a fun learning platform in the future when she is older - as we can investigate more into each of the interesting women featured. Finally, board books are ideal for babies as they will want to reach out and grab/ nibble at the book.I recommend this book to all of my friends who have babies as it is beautiful to look at, engaging and will ignite future conversations.
