The whole good twin/evil twin thing and it's resulting ending was a little...forced. And predictable.
Oh, and how long is Jackson really expected to be celibate!? I totally get that Shay has intimacy issues, all earned and expected but c'mon??!!! His level of patience is bordering on absurd.
On the whole i enjoyed the characters and will absolutely buy the next installment but to say I loved this book the way I have its predecessors would be a lie.
Shaye understands exactly what it’s like to have gaping holes in your past and how the dreams can cripple you. So will Shaye be able to solve a cold case which the New Orleans Police were unable to solve?
Meanwhile boyfriend Detective Jackson Lamotte and partner Detective Grayson are searching for a thirteen-year-old Brianna LeBlanc the granddaughter of millionaire Victor LeBlanc. After getting pulled off the kidnapping case because the FBI has been called in, the Detectives are called to the Metairie Cemetery and the death of Cody Reynolds. How can the bartender at the French Revival, the man that Shaye had interviewed the day before regarding Caitlyn’s disappearance, be dead and how are the cases related? When another body shows up with connections to Caitlyn’s Shaye and Jackson are intertwined in the mystery and before any more bodies show up dead they must solve the mystery. Ms. DeLong has a way of pulling you into the story of Shaye and Jackson to keep you turning pages well into the night and early morning.
Corrine Archer and therapist Eleanor only had a small part of this story but I missed that Hustle didn’t help Shaye with the investigation.
As for Shaye’s personal life Jackson and Shaye have still not moved onto a more intimately physical relationship. Shaye hunts for her daughter while keeping Corrine and Eleonora in the dark. I missed
Hustle not being in this book.
Over all a good read but not the best of the series.
