I loved this book!
Ok, it's Ker Dukey, I love her books and sometimes she can thrown curve balls and a little darkness in her books so I wasn't sure what to expect but although the plot was unpredictable and it does have a huge twist and a cliffy regarding other characters it was a good contemporary read with a little bit of everything thrown in.
Antonia has moved from the Uk to America to be with her best friend, after a horrendous incident she wants to break free from the memories and start over.
I love all the characters, Antonias friend Gaby and all the guys who add a bit of humour with their banter and Finlay, I loved him although he was moody and jealous and stormed off instead of talking things out which was annoying I did love his character.
Antonia falls hard for her best friends brother and there a lot of hot moments, angst and twists in the plot when Antonia's past comes knocking, a conniving ex and more than enough to keep you turning the pages.
Drawn to you was definitely a book I didn't want to put down and I am eagerly looking forward to the next book Lines drawn with the curiosity of the huge cliffhanger with Gaby.
Drawn to You is a beautifully written story about love, growth and moving forward in life instead of looking back. Antonia is a girl trying to rebuild her life and overcome the demons of her past. She's a quietly strong soul who has a wicked sense of humour, especially around her best friend and temporary room mate Gaby, those two girls have one hell of a friendship and could probably take the world by storm if that's what they wanted. Antonia is a girl who you take into your heart and want to keep her there, you want to love her, laugh with her and be the shoulder she can cry on. Enter Finlay (here I want to sigh!) and his sexy cockiness. This man is arrogant, self assured and has panty ruining sea appeal, we all love a good alpha and Finlay is one hell of an alpha!! Reading his character grow along with Antonia, Gaby and the rest of the group (Finlay's friends) as they form bonds and become friends is a story that I very much loved reading and the gang is a laugh a minute.
I haven't enough praise for Ker, this book and her writing. Although subtle this story packs one hell of a punch and its after effects (and ending!) will stay with you and move you.
I absolutely love the route she took with this book, I love how the characters come together.
Antonia and Finlay's connection is amazing right from the start, you can't help root for them throughout the story.
Antonia has been dealt a really crappy hand in life she decides she needs to leave the UK and start a new life in the USA close to her best friend.
Finlay is dealing with secrets after the deatb of his father all the whilst trying to keep his fathers empire from being taking over by a board. Finlay is charming, handome and has the filthiest mouth all great qualities to give you the best BBF ever.
Secrets come out in this book that you totally don't expect.
I absolutely dare you not to love it.
Fantastic read I devoured in a matter of hours I could not put it down.
And I’m really glad I did. There are lies and secrets, twists, turns and half truths a plenty.
The writing is really easy going and compelling. This book was so easy to read, really enjoyable and will leave you begging for book 2!
Which I’m going to start now!
Without giving away, this book is like a girl and her best friends brother storyline BUT and it's a massive but, because in amongst that is a massive background story with twists galore and a history that will break your heart - so be prepared for some serious stomach churning details!!
It's awesome - read it!!!
Top international reviews
when's the next one???????? Yes, I said next one but I CANT WAIT!!! Ker is quickly becoming my favorite author and more people need to read her strong and captivating writing - there is nothing she has written that I haven't loved.
I loved all the strong "boy bonds" in this and thank god for another female having g a backbone!!!!
The intense love story is inevitable but to have more that one......even more interesting.........Just Buy it xx
Antonia suffered from a very traumatic experience. She decided to move in with her friend Gaby, until her new apartment was ready. Little did she know Finlay, would be there the very first day. And the connection with them was instant. I wish they did spend more time to get to know each other. I think everything that happened with them happened way too quickly. Antonia was searching for hope and in moving, she found a new home. A new family. She wants to face the demons of her past and move on.
Finlay was sweet and just flat out hot. He ends up giving Antonia his whole heart. I could tell he was new to the whole love thing. He was a womanizer until Antonia came into the picture. But he did want to change for her. What I didn't like about Finlay was his temper and jealousy. He did act like a child at times. And yes, I do love see the guys get jealous in the books, but Finlay went overboard with it. He was just so immature. I am really hoping he changes and gets his act together. But, Finlay does have secrets. And when those secrets come out, everything changes for everyone.
Gavin was my favorite character. I just loved his personality. He was a huge womanizer, but I think there is a lot more to him than that. He just hasn't found the right woman yet. Gavin was hilarious. Loved his jokes and comments. Loved the banter. He was a very loyal man and just very loving. He was always there for the people he cared about.
Finlay, Gaby, Brad, Gavin, Gabe, Libby and Antonia all became so very close. And I loved this friendship they had. They would do anything for each other and protect each other, because were one huge family. They all were always together for the most part. Either crashing at Antonia's, Gaby's or Finlay's. This group accepted Antonia in from the very beginning and then Libby as well. These friends did have their battles with each other. But they always worked through it.
This book had so many secrets and twists. I was waiting for it all to unravel and then BOOM!!! Got hit with a several twists at the end that completely shocked me. I was left thinking what did I just read? These secrets were completely EPIC!!! Definite WOW moments!! The drama was off the charts!!! So much drama!! Loved it!
Drawn to You was a a fantastic read from start to finish. Once I found out that this was a new adult contemporary romance, I couldn't wait to read it. Ker Dukey did a wonderful job with this story. I can't wait to read the sequel now!! I am so excited to see where Ker Dukey takes it!! She knows how to change things up and completely shock me!! Can't wait for Lines Drawn! I also want to say that this cover is absolutely gorgeous!!!
I’m not a big fan of cliffhangers so when I found out this book had one I held off reading it u until the second was due to be released and if I’m honest I’m so glad I did this. There is no way I could have waited to get the conclusion to this story.
Antonia has suffered an awfully traumatic experience and decides to move back to the states to find a new start. She moves in with her childhood best friend and her brooding older brother. I liked Antonia in this book, I felt so sorry for her and the things she endured but she was likeable for the most part.
Finlay has been thrust into the role of CEO of his father company after his unexpected death and has so much resting on his shoulders. When we first meet him he is uptight and to be fair a bit of an a$$hole.
There were times these two characters just seemed to bring the worst out in each other but there were also times they brought the absolute best out in each other. I enjoyed seeing their relationship blossom but there were times I thought they should have calmed down and talked rationally instead of flying off the handle.
Ker Dukey brought us a story filled with pain, suffering, humour, love and heartache.Ker’s writing is hard hitting and raw, the characters aren’t perfect and I think that’s why I love them so much! This was a motley crew and each one of them had a different story to tell, I have come to love these characters and can’t wait to see where the conclusion to this story takes us!
Finlay’s friends were a welcome distraction and I enjoyed their antics (especially Gabe’s promiscuous ways and suggestive comments). Finlay’s sister Gaby, who was supposedly Antonia’s best friend was actually kind of absent in the story. They’re supposed to be close enough that Antonia was living with Gaby and yet she isn't around that much.
There were 2 reveals at the end, and I’m going to say I was 75% right because I knew 1 and the other I was almost right, so close. Both of these reveals happened right at the end of the story so I’m definitely eager to see how this affects the characters in the next book.
This book didn't just explode with color. It exploded with characters. Characters that draw you in. Antonia is getting a fresh start to life. As the reader, I felt like I was on the journey with her. The characters are so well developed that you feel like part of the group. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.
Although some of the subjects are harsh, Drawn to You is a refreshing read. Without giving away any spoilers, I will say it is about the strength of love. You will want to have Lines Drawn queued up and ready to read next.
Thank you, Ker Dukey. I can't wait to read more from you. I recommend this to all of the readers who want to read about starting new and the strength of love.
This book is not a stand alone. Well I guess it could be but that ending...no way can I stop here!!
So this story is told mostly through Antonia's view. She endured something no woman should ever endure and decided to move on with her life back in the United States with her best friend Gaby. But boy did she forget how hot Gaby's brother is. And there their story begins.
What I love is it is not just those two there is so many friends and couples close to them that you know them all on such different levels. Ker did a phenomenal job at developing these characters and their friendships. I want to say that my gut was telling me the entire time that something isn't right with James. I could be wrong but I will know in about 5 minutes when I start the next book!! Also the little secret at the end about Gavin I had a feeling and boy is that gonna go over well. NOT. Finlay is so damn bipolar but he is so hot that I can totally get over it. I think this is the first book I actually like the female lead more then the male. With that said I love Finlay like a lot!! Hot, hot, hot!!
I was all over the place with this book. I could not put it down. This book kept my 100% attention from the get go!! I can't wait to start the next book!!
Hmm.. Where do I start., first off I pulled an all nighter and finished because I was so engrossed in the story I couldn't stop reading. I instantly fell in love with the characters.
This is a little different than Ker's regular dark reads but seriously perfect and you definitely need to start reading!
I do have to start off by saying yes this has a Cliffhanger and is Book 1 of Two and she writes that in the beginning and tries to prepare you but seriously it doesn't. I was so intrigued and then Bam to be continued... Ker doesn't usually leave us hanging for long and I am really crossing my fingers that she had Book Two out quickly!!!!!
I really felt connected and enjoyed reading about Antonia. After everything she has been through she is staying strong and moving on., and What better way to start than with her first BFF Gaby.
When seeing Gaby's brother Finley for the first time in years. Antonia is having a hard time controlling her thoughts and libido! She is quickly introduced to the gang and falls easily in place within and has a great sense of humor and wit to her bag has you chuckling as your reading.
Finley Hayes is screwed after he meets his sisters friend who he quickly reconizes as her BFF. He is sexy and hot and you can definitely feel the chemistry coming off. I really enjoyed their banter back and forth and how Finley would keep her in her toes and get close enough but then pull away. The anticipation definitely kills you and you just want them to just have sex already!!!
I really enjoyed the dynamic of their friendships within the gang and how there are a few hookups and fall outs. The author keeps you on your toes and engrossed in the story the entire time. This book is well written and to me would rate more than 5 Stars. You will not be disappointed after reading.
I can't wait for Book Two!!!!
Drawn to You:
Before this duet, I had only read the Pretty Dolls books that she cowrote with K Webster. Based on those I was expecting something that had me on the edge of my seat and blowing me away with unexpected events. That's not what I got... at first. This story seemed like a good plot, but pretty lowkey for what I had expected from Ker, but then, in a wonderful twisted fashion, she blew my mind and I was yelling for more! I was truly addicted and needed to know more and fast! I won't tell you any story details because you just need to go in! It's all worth it!
If you're like me and not a fan of cliffhangers, don't worry, book 2 is Lines Drawn and is already out.
★★★ FAN-FRKN-TASTIC! ★★★
It is impossible for me to sit here and write down what I am feeling. (Just picture yourself with your mouth hanging open when you finish this book, Yep that is exactly what I did)
When I finally sat down and started to read Drawn to you, right from the start the storyline drew me in. This story has it all, it has drama, mystery, friendship, humor, sexual tension, jealousy, suspense, passion, HOT “SEXY Scenes, Bro & Ro MANCE , EVERYTHING and with every page I was getting so deep in to the story and then BAM ”I never saw that coming” happens! So don’t think you can figure this book out just read and enjoy it!
Anyone who has ever read Ker Dukey books knows they usually have a Dark theme. Drawn to you is not her usual Dark book, but it still touches on some dark topic and has the same Shock Value from the Queen of Twists herself, KER Dukey.
OH EM GEE!
Another hit. This one was lighter than her usual twistedness. But still contained some dark themes and a bit of taboo. Always expect the unexpected when reading Ker Dukey. WOW!
Antonia moves to the U.S. to heal from a tragic event. Staying with her lifelong friend Gaby, and her hot as sin brother Fin. Their family has known each other forever, there's secrets lurking, betrayal, and revelations that will blow your mind.
I was riding the high of this love story, then bamn, a curveball straight to the face, there was a twisted web of crazy right at the end. Leaving me with my mouth hanging wide open and my heart in my throat. I'm at a loss for words. There were little hints placed within the story that had my wheels turning, so I knew something big was going to happen.
I need the next book like yesterday.
I'm not good at describing or re-telling parts of a book. But I enjoyed the companionship & banter amongst friends, the bonds that are formed, I Love Finley & Antonia. Dammit I just loved this book both inside and out.
But wait, just when you think it's going to end one way & you're stunned, then BAM! Something else! Don't assume you've figured it, because you won't. This is my first read for this author, Ker Dukey, I'm Drawn to You! Thanks for a great read!
