    I'll be brief.

First one was left on the sidewalk, and stolen. The delivery man had also lied on his report. The second time around the product arrived in a wet soggy box with tape all over it. Inside the bits were everywhere, and as assembly was needed this was a pain. Then I realised that parts were missing and it couldn't be completed.

Its now finished (I bought extra bits) and its great. Works well, strong and solid - which is good as parts had been bashed and dented in transit as well (but I didn't mind about the looks)

So get my advice is to get it. If it arrives in good condition then it'll be great, if not.....

This is a good item and done what I wanted it too. Ideal with two scaffold boards accross for height access. They took the weight of a supply of bricks, mortar board and cement, tools and the weight of two people. I used this to build a cavity brick Hall extension and used the whole of the height spectrum. I consider that the trestles could have been better engineered as the component parts were very stiff to operate. On one occassion, I hurt my back trying to pull out the cross member to set it to the height required, then it gave way and hit me under the chin.
Appart from that the horses are good value for money at the price I paid.

In the sequence of events : the packaging was shoddy, washers were falling out of the box, two screws didn't fit, and most frustratingly the lugs on the upper support member were warped so that the telescopic legs didn't fit. I've had Draper products before and never had a problem with them so i don't know if the issues are with the retailer. I was left with the impression that this kit was a second but a retailer was selling it off as a prime product. I thought about returning the kit but as I needed the trestles for a job this weekend I decided to make do - I won't in future.

Amazon were reliable as usual. However, I can't really be as enthusiastic about Draper's trestles. The cross piece was bent on one end and there 3 crucial sets of nuts and bolts missing from the pack. I would have returned this item if I didn't urgently need trestles for the job I'm doing at the moment, so at my own expense i have sourced new bolts and screws and straightened the bent piece so I have working trestles. This isn't ideal as the adjustable part now sticks.

Also, the assembly instructions are not much help. It would have been very helpful Draper had thought to provide a little help identifying the all the nuts and bolts as the descriptions left me baffled. They should take a leaf out of Ikea's book, who quality aside at least make it clear what bit goes where.

In short, I would not recommend this item to anyone unless you are prepared to either to send it back or do a fix.

The product is solid, well designed and works as it should but it arrived in a box which had burst open and with many of the nuts and bolts missing. Bolt holes in the metal were only partially drilled and several connecting brackets were bent. After buying a number of new bolts and washers, drilling out the holes and a spot of panel beating all was well and I'm pleased with the end product but zero points for quality control and packaging.

Seems I got the same as most of the other review. These are excellent value and do precisely what they say they do. However the packaging is awful. Nuts, bolts and washers come is two pathetic bags which seem to rupture just by looking at them. One bag had burst and all the nuts, bolts and washers were rattling around in the box. A few nuts and washers had worked their way out of the box during transit, but they are all standard sizes, so I had replacements in the garage to hand. This product is excellent and if the manufacturer would only use better packets for the assembly parts, it would be outstanding.

Had mine about a year and they have had some use, and still as good as new. Just put a board on top and you have a temporary bench, put planks on and instant scaffold stage. I found them to be quite sturdy even at height

Reviewed in France on 10 February 2014
