What is weird is that the people who made it seem to have never come across wood before, because they have built it in such a flimsy way with such a poor quality blade that I think they tested it on a block of cheddar and thought "yeah, this looks about right".
The back is (barely) attached by one screw, positioned towards the front, creating a pivot point on which to break the rear handle on the slightest bit of planing.
There is the appearance of a screw at the back, but this attaches to nothing. It is obvious that this was meant to attach to a nut underneath the plane, but they must have discovered that this created ugly lines in their cheese, so they replaced a nut that would hold it in place with a nut smaller than the diameter of the hole. Granted, this created a flat underbelly to the tool, but makes it next to useless.
The blade is also unbelievably poor quality, it just isn't strong enough to stand up to wood. The instant you use it it forms divots on the blade, you can see the blade falling to pieces in front of your eyes.
The attahement to hold the blade in place is also quite flimsy. If the rest of the plane actually worked I think this would be a problem, thankfully for the manufacturers the rest of it is so terrible this wasn't the case, so I cant really complain.
Anything harder than a good Brie and this thing disintegrates. Sadly my doors are made of wood and continue to stick to my carpets like a ripe Camembert on a warm summers day.
Please save your money and buy something else, anything. Buy a Stanley knife and hack away at your wood, you will get a better result.
