While the materials that they are made from is of a decent enough quality, the workmanship that has gone into them is not so good. Most of the set doesn't click together flush, and the pinching pliers (see the photo I uploaded above) is out by a mile. If they were priced around the £4-5 mark it might have been worth grinding them down to make a decent enough set, but not at the current price of nearly £9. Similar tools are available in pound shops/market stalls for much less if you want to put the effort into making them flush yourself.
Overall, if you plan to use them for making Jewelery or something else light and don't mind paying the price then they should be fine, if you need them for something that needs precision, look elsewhere.
Overall quality for this set of mini pliers is 7/10.
Nice rubberised grips
Good for minor strength usage (bead working, thin wire cutting).
Not suitable for rough and household diy projects.
Average length of each plier is about 13cm.
Size is 'just ok' for small hands.
If you have large hands, these might not hold well in your palms. They might only work with gripping with fingers!
Within the set I use the flat-head pliers to crimp and pinch and the needle or bent nose pliers to hold the sides of the the cap and boning while crimping. Their tiny size means I can easily hold two pairs of pliers, boning and end cap at the same time and pinch with both sets of pliers. Any bigger and this job would get really tricky! I have very small hands so they might feel a bit too small for a big handed person?
I also use the end-on cutters for trimming off excess coil but none of the pliers can be used to cut the spiral steel boning, for that job I highly recommend Am-Tech Single Aviation Tin Snip which makes it a breeze.
I am very pleased with this collection of tools and recommend them to for the purpose I am using them. I think "DIY" is a misnomer as I could not imagine using them for any household jobs, I think they would break very quickly! The quality is not great, the handles feel a little loose and I don't think they'd withstand frequent or heavy use. "Hobby series" would be a more accurate title (the woman featured on the packaging is jewellery making so I guess that's a clue).
