"Those Who Speak" is a wonderful adventure, full of action, excitement and plenty of information about Isabela for the really huge "Dragon Age" fan. There's an appearance by a companion from the original game, we get our first glimpse, even if brief, of Tevinter and there's a wonderful set-up for the next volume that promises to be explosive.
But as fun as all this was, the real focus of the volume was on developing Isabela. There is a lot of back-story given on her an I mean a lot. If you were a fan of her in DA2 you are in for a good time with this comic. I'd say there is more character development here for Isabela than there was in the whole of DA2, unless your Hawke was romancing her. The Qunari are also given plenty of pages here, with more of their "philosophy" and even a real female Qunari which I believe is the first ever shown in the "Dragon Age" series.
The art is beautiful, lavish with much more energy and flair than in the first volume. There are some truly gorgeous pages, beginning with two superb illustrations by Anthony Palumbo right at the start. The script is tight and the pacing perfect, with a wonderful mix of action and story.
This is just a great comic and a great addition to this fantastic universe! Its just something any fan cannot miss. Well done!

If you love Dragon Age, you're going to enjoy this. It's a solid entry into Bioware's imaginary world. Good art and concise story telling. If you've never played Dragon Age you have some catching up to do.

Format: Hardcover
The Dragon Age: Library Edition collects every single Dark Horse Dragon Age comic published up until 12 June 2014, and contains three separate volumes which follow each other in a successive storyline: The Silent Grove, Those Who Speak, and Until We Sleep. It is a trilogy contained within a hardcover volume, but most importantly, written by the Dragon Age lead writer: David Gaider. As such, then, it is a natural thing to read as a fan of the series, and it expands on many points for the three characters on which it focuses – Alistair, Varric, and Isabela (though the story may not follow some same canon established in some players’ games). However, is this volume worth buying?

The Silent Grove

‘The Silent Grove’ is an interesting tale set two years following the events of Dragon Age II, and continues the writing of the Lead Writer David Gaider. The graphic novel contains a number of tie-ins to the previous games and extends the story of three of the previous companions of the player’s character: Alistair, Isabela, and Varric. It further follows the main canon of the game, and does a good job at expanding its universe and making use of little known characters mentioned in the main games of the series.

So, what does it focus on? This volume focuses on King Alistair, accompanied by rogues Isabela and Varric, on a long and dangerious quest deep inside the borders of Antiva. Together they must stage a prison break, face dragons, and a Witch of the Wilds, as well as uncover a secret which Alistair longs to find the answer to in order to find some inner peace.

Those Who Speak

‘Those Who Speak’ follows directly after ‘The Silent Grove’ leaves off, and continues with the quest on which the three main characters have embarked.
