The left hand USB socket would not hold the usb plug securely - which meant there was no chance of a continuous charge. I returned it for a refund - avoiding some attempts to fob me off - and it was eventually deemed faulty. Had to chase supplier for a refund to be processed.
However, very dissapointed with the internals. The holes in to which the cables are fed are not deep enough. They provide just over 0.5cm of depth. This means when you tighten the screw the cable keeps slipping out. If there is only one wire per each hole then you should be OK. However most mains socket have two or three wires (wire coming in and going out to complete the ring main).
Most mains sockets have at least 1cm plus depth which means the wire can be held in securely. However that is not the case with this particualr socket. I found it extremely difficult to keep the wires in place and am somewhat concered that they may in time slip leading to a poor connection.
Be VERY careful when tightening the screws. Too much pressure and the wire will slip out. Not enough pressure means poor contact (or even sparking).
Manufacturers need to rethink the design.
If you managed to connect it properly though it works a treat. I am now able to charge two devices at same time. The i series devices (Apple) seems to charge from the none iphone socket as well - so thats an added bonus.
