Dotty Fish shoes have non-slip suede soles. Perfect for use indoors and especially on hard surfaces like wooden and laminate flooring. When babies and toddlers are on the move they need shoes that are lightweight and flexible. Our shoes provide the perfect protection for little feet.
Great for days at nursery and pre-school. Our shoes allow them to run around with confidence while not restricting their natural movement.
When children first learn to walk they swing their legs rather pick them up and too much grip can hamper this. They can end up tripping and falling much more when wearing rigid shoes with heavy soles.
Great for Toddlers
Our shoes are ideal for toddlers who love the engaging designs. Dotty Fish shoes are very comfortable to wear so they often don’t want to take them off.
All our shoes have an elasticated ankle trim making them fit snuggly and stops them from coming off. Great news if you are always looking for lost socks that your little one has kicked off. The elastic also means they are comfortable to wear and easy to put on - even on wriggly little feet.
As older toddlers start to grow up they are often looking for more independence. Dotty Fish shoes are easy enough for them to put on and take off themselves. They are great for wearing to nursery and pre-school or as indoor slippers.
Designed for Little Feet
At Dotty Fish we are passionate about developing shoes that not only look good but also do good. The wide, rounded toe area allows young feet the room to move and grow without restrictions.
As babies start to pull themselves up and cruise around their foot needs room to spread and our wide toe area allows this to happen naturally. The shoes also have a flexible suede sole which allows children to get the all-important feedback from the floor, called proprioception. This helps them develop their balance.
We use genuine leather that is breathable. Babies and toddlers are still learning to regulate their temperature and so their feet sweat 2-3 times more than ours. Having a shoe that protects their feet while allowing them to breath is so important.
Care of your shoes
Dotty Fish shoes are made from leather and as such should never be put in the washing machine.
Getting the right size
Making sure you get the right size is important. We have a size guide in our product images and our storefront has a detailed look at how you go about measuring your child's foot.
Testing our leather
Dotty Fish is committed to using genuine, safe leather. We know that our shoes are worn by babies and toddlers and take safety seriously.

However the colour of the shoes bled on her white tights!
I had to soak them in cold water and then spent another hour trying to rinse out the excess of the colour. Changed the water about 10 times in a bowl. Held them under running tap. Used soap and still the water would turn deep red. Finally decided to stop as the inside leather already looked broken because of all the rubbing.
I then dried the shoes with a towel and stuffed with some paper so they would not shrink as they dry. Took the paper out next morning - again tinted red...
My question is - why would you use such a strong colour on baby shoes?
Surely this could be sorted while still in production.
Solely because of this I would not recommend this product.
Quick note - 0-6 were perfect for my 10 month old. The 6-12 were far too big. She does have quite little feet but worth bearing in mind.
