Look, I will be honest...I probably wouldn't have given this a second look had a certain Teddy Thompson not been involved in production, and mentioned so on his website....it would have been my loss quite frankly.

This is a wonderful blend of classic country folk music, with one of the most simple but beautiful (or even simply beautiful) voices I have heard in country for a long time...a voice so pure that at times anyone with a lesser talent would be swallowed by the arrangements. And what a songwriter for a first album....how unbelievable will she be as she continues to develop?

The tracks are a mixture of sparse acoustic (You Say, Where I Stood) , classic country (Go On Lovin') and even verging on gospel with the acapella "Ain't Nobody". "Tell Me" and "Fine, Fine Fine" are a little Thompson-afied and could easily have been off one of his albums ....but she steals the limelight with a flirtatious performance that makes them her own and the arrangements compliment the songs rather than sounding imposed. Indeed Mr T sings background/harmonies on 3 tracks.....but be clear this is by no means an album by his "protege". His forthcoming album will need to be exceptional not to be overshadowed by this.

The album is 34 minutes long, but forget the short length, this takes you right back to the albums of the early seventies classic country, where the quality was phenomenal throughout and no filler. Today's generations doesn't get it...but less is more.

I can only pay the album this final compliment...I traveled to work today, listening to this album....I have no idea how I got there but this album became an instant part of my life. If your reading this, it means your curious....buy it.

By M. Dowden HALL OF FAMETOP 50 REVIEWERVINE VOICE on 25 Feb. 2016
Format: MP3 Download
Virginian Dori Freeman is only twenty four but she shows here on her début album that she is just bursting full of talent. As a singer and songwriter you can hear here both that lovely voice of hers, and the wonderful lyrics that she has written. Taking in different aspects of love in many ways this is a really strong album that should go down well with many people.

The instrumentation really complements the vocals here, and there is to a certain degree a stripped back clean and simple feel. Teddy Thompson produced this and the whole album was recorded in only three days in New York to try and keep the freshness and spontaneity flowing, which you can really hear on this. Already tipped as the next big thing, Dori shows us that she writes from the heart and keeps things honest and real. Already being tipped by Rolling Stone as a contender for best Americana début album of the year it is quite easy to hear why.

Fresh, original and honest everything just seems to come together on this to make something that is exceptionally good and well worth listening to. With the clean and crisp sound that is very easy on the ear there are no frills here this is just good old fashioned singing and music.

By Sid Nuncius #1 HALL OF FAMETOP 50 REVIEWER on 16 Feb. 2016

I think this is a good album. I took a risk on it after good reviews and because Teddy Thompson produced it, and I like it.

Dori Freeman has a lovely, pure voice and sings very well. The music is at the Country end of the Americana spectrum really, with some songs sounding pretty pure Country and it's good material with nice melodies and very good production. The sound is generally fairly restrained with a variety of moods from the upbeat, almost rocky Fine Fine Fine to the classic Country sound of heartbreak in Go On Lovin'.

I don't think this is an earthshaking album and I doubt whether it will become a classic – but then very few albums do. It's a good solid album from a very good singer. I'd suggest listening to a few samples – if you like what you hear then try the album; you won't be disappointed. I can recommend this, and I look forward to hearing more from Dori Freeman.

This is a young singer that I was lucky to come across when browsing on the net. She is a real find and I think she has a big future ahead of her the album has a soft touch to it almost country almost folk really well composed songs the only thing against it is it's to short lived ,Can not wait for next one five more tracks and it would be my very best buy cd. Hope the second release has more tracks;
