This re-release of Don't Bring Me Down, features 2 bonus tracks from it first outing. Love Is Here, and Help Yourself have been live favourites for over a year now, so it seemed right to have added them on to what is already a great album. Same Picture and She Comes Around, get the album off to a happy and dreamy start which really draws you in to wanting to listen more. Wide Open Sky is brilliantly polished and Bright Eyes and Best Intentions show real depth and excellent song writing, to accompany Robin Bennett's talented voice.
DBMD is a wonderful, melodic album that oozes talent and is hard to keep out of your CD player.
It may be too soft for some people, but in that circumstance keep it for a cure for insomnia, or a pleasant sunday morning drive.

Emerging last year with the sublime single 'Love is Here', Goldrush release this timeless debut album of wonderfully written and performed pop songs. Love, loss and self-doubt are the main lyrical themes, but in an altogether more uplifting vibe than what we have become used to in this genre.
Opener 'Same Picture' sets the records tone with it's beautifully sung lyrics and well constructed harmonies, whilst 'Pioneers' effectively rocks out without sacrificing melodic charm. Standout track 'Wide Open Sky' is another simple tune that typifies everything positive about this album. A song about getting over the mistakes you make in your life, it leaves you feeling that no matter how dark the tunnel may be, there is always light at the end.
Many other albums will grab your attention this year, but few will better this delightful record.

Having never heard Goldrush before, I was very unsure about what to expect but after the first song, I was pleasantly surprised. The songs are well written and sung with a voice verging on gravely and strong bass lines shine through. The first song ‘Same Picture’ is a particularly catchy tune and is quite Travisesque. The album varies from the more upbeat (‘Wide Open Sky’) to decidedly mellow offerings (‘Let You Down’) and would be a great choice for all indie fans!
