My 2 year old daughter loves this book but I think older girls would like it too. The doll's house is used satisfyingly in the story, quite a bit of action happens inside the house which is very clever. The fairy is fairly anarchic but also very real, eating crisps and being naughty. The fairy is also appropriately secret and unseen by adults. The illustrations are very beautiful. I found this in the library but have already bought a copy because my daughter loves it so much. Great present for a 2 - 5 year old girl.

Attractive, colourful illustrations, and a good story. I liked the multicultural family. My 4 year old grandaughter loved it and kept asking everyone to read it to her.

This is a favourite in our house - and my daughter is 6. I think the naughty unconventional fairy strikes a chord with most little girls! The touching affection between daughter and daddy is also a moving theme. The illustrations are enchanting and have the detail that little people love! This should be on every little girl's book shelf.

The pictures in this book are just fantastic. My daughter loves to look at them,However she doesn't ask for the story to be read to her very often as it is about a little girls dad who becomes ill through the night and isn't there in the morning.Although the story has a happy ending-the dad comes home-the thought upset my daughter,so didn't make for a good bedtime story, probably because her dad has had to go to hospital several times through the night.

This is a lovely writen and illustrated book, its quite large and each page has a picture so while you are reading the little one can look at each picture. The story is more a relationship beween a Dad and daughter as well as her fairy!

I bought this book for my grand-daughter not knowing that two days later my son would have to go into hospital - you'll see! He soon recovered and then we read the book to Honor. At just over three years of age she loved it. The illustrations are magical and the fairy called Thistle is captivating. She has already become a favourite for World Book Day 'dressing up'!

This book's strong point is its illustrations. The colours are soft and beautifully blended, and there are so many little details you can spot a new one every time you read it. This also makes it a perfect book for little ones to "read" alone once they know the story. My only qualm with this book is its dimensions - slightly oversized - making it difficult to turn the pages when you've got a little one sitting on your knee... so i'd say its a book for 3+yr olds that can turn pages well by themselves so the book doesn't get spoilt.
