I feel that is the best research methods book that any person with an interest in carrying out quantitative research could own. It is of value to both undergraduate and post graduate alike, taking the student/researcher from the very basic to the most complex research methods. For example the novice is shown the basics in simple easy to read terms, whilst the more experienced researcher is shown how to perform statistical measures that are not sensitive to sample size error when David shows how to carry out effect size measurements. He also shows how to perform a meta analysis and much more. As one of David's ex students I feel that he has produced a very good research methods text. I say this after comparing his book with a wide range of similar text books and find him to deliver a high quality, user friendly approach to research.

I would highly recomend ths book for anyone on a degree course in psychology (or a related subject). The book is easy to understand while not been too simplistic. I find it increadably easy to find the sections i need dispite the thickness of the book as the index is amazing. This is my favourate research methods book.
