This story starts off with a group of lads being ...well... lads, with humour and mocking each other....a normal day in the lives of mercenaries. It doesn't take too long for the mood to change to horror and explodes right in your face!! Very descriptive and enjoyable.

This story really makes you think.... who are 'they'? why him? A well written short that begs for an awesome sequel (hint, hint!). Don't miss out on this little gem of a gruesome tale. Highly Recommended

A very short action packed horror/thriller. Immediately captivating and intriguing. Some of the conversations made me laugh. Gory descriptions and perfect for fans of thriller, horrors, actions and short stories. Well done K.A.Denver hopefully the first of many horrors :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Denver’s story moves at breakneck pace and you’ll read this easily in one sitting 2 July 2017
By Kevin Kuhn - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Light on dialog and heavy on action, this short story packs a blood soaked, fully automatic punch in only five chapters. The protagonist, Big K, is a grizzled, well trained solder, and we are immediately dropped into a fierce firefight. All goes well for Big K and the strike team and in a flash we are at a dive bar just off the base. From here, everything takes a left turn and we quickly move from action to throat-ripping horror.

Denver’s story moves at breakneck pace and you’ll read this easily in one sitting. First person narrative gives you insight into Big K’s thinking and motivation and pulls you into the story. The writing is descriptive, but clean, building a clear picture, but moving through the events quickly. I’m hoping this is an introduction of a larger story as these five chapters certainly left me hungry for more. A brief, but intriguing military/horror tale with plenty of gore and excitement.
