Great artwork again, really inspiring pictures, with a basic thread. The conclusion is that all mothers love their children. There is more advanced information is given about the names for baby animals at the end of the book, so that the book can provide learning as well. children will have fun learning the names, and connecting them to the pictures.

Another easy going text that fuels a child's literary interest. Good for a basic start-up; the images and simple sentence structure of the text allows children to feel less intimidated and also brings the subject of home-life,family relationships, and community bonds to the forefront of the classroom, therefore bringing shy children out of their shell and fondly talking about their view of people and the world around them.

Bought this for my 8 month old grandson. He is in Australia for 12 months with his parents. Thought it would be link to home and give him stories to tell of real kangaroos when gets back. He loves the pictures and the straightforward story.

Amazing value.

I like lots of Eric Carle's books but this one is so boring I felt compelled to write a review! As a parent who does the reading I was fed up by page 5 of "does a so-and-so have a mother? Yes!" The same thing for 24 pages. You have been warned.

A well illustrated fun book, introducing small children to useful and important concepts. The words are well chosen . It is easy to read as well as being simple , yet instructive to listen to.
