Dead Man's Hand collects the four-issue story originally released by IDW in magazine form. The Doctor takes Clara to the Wild West, where they discover the town is in the grip of Wild Bill Hickok, an outlaw who can shoot his victims without a gun. How does Thomas Edison tie in with this? And what is Oscar Wilde doing visiting the town? Throw in the Doctor and Clara and you have a great story which includes aliens and all the past incarnations of the Doctor! The artwork captures the Doctor and Clara very well and if you think Oscar Wilde looks like the Eighth Doctor wait until you see him in chapter four! The graphic novel also includes a short story from the 2012 Doctor Who Special. Worth every penny and a must for Doctor Who fans!

This graphic novel features a collection of just two stories, published in 2013.

The first story, Dead Man’s Hand, is set in Deadwood, Dakota Territory, March 1882. The Masked Gunman is back and he’s just killed the Sheriff – but why is Calamity Jane looking for Wild Bill Hickock, and why is Oscar Wilde in Deadwood? When the Eleventh Doctor and Clara decide to visit Deadwood, they find more than either of them could have bargained for.

The second is a short story, Escape into Alcatraz has the Doctor trying to break a friend out of Alcatraz in 1962.

To be honest I wasn’t thrilled with this book. The first and longest story is rather over the top, even for an eleventh Doctor story – there’s lots of silliness and lots of action that just doesn’t really gel; the story didn’t really grab my attention at any point. And the second, short story came across as a homage to more silliness which just flew off the page with every frame.
The artwork is not that great, and the stories are not great – definitely not a keeper.

This was a great Doctor who story. Maybe not the bets story but one certainly worth a read. it gives and overview of the whole character of the Doctor through his many incarnations And the story gives us what look at the little known War Doctor

A superbly written graphic novel. The story is detailed and interesting featuring the eleventh Doctor and Clara.
Off in the Wild West there are adventures, heros, aliens and zombies. Not necessarily in that order.
This book looks good and the story is great. All Doctor Who fans will find this an enjoyable romp through the wild west.
