The graphics really capture the look of the film and the voice acting in the game is spot on. The first level takes place in the woods which has these black wolves and tree type men for you to dispatch of with your bowing arrow or trusty sword. The levels are well constructed with fun combat, platforming and easy enough puzzles for the younger player to be able to work out. Princess Merida's mum has been turned into a bear a when she made a deal with a witch and now she must find a way of breaking this magicial curse. Even her three brothers have been turned into baby bears and you use them sometimes to solve puzzles. What is great fun is when you are given control of mother bear to take the enemies on with.
The are many up grades you can buy to improve your weapons and there are different types of powers that you can find for your bow. The bow is a far more effective weapon then the sword in my humble opinion. Part from Disney Epic Mickey (Wii) this just may be the next best Disney game on the Wii even if, it is easy for older players like myself. My daughter is finding this game a enjoyable challenge and may need more help for the later levels which have more tricky platforming sections. Overall if your son or daughter enjoyed the film then they should enjoy this game as well.

I can't believe some people!!!!! The game is rated "12" so why are people surprised with the game, when they are allowing their children to play a game that's clearly not suitable. O yes the game,,,,,,,,,, it's pretty good but please accept its rated 12 for a reason.

Great film with a story, really enjoyed it another great Disney production. Effects were very cleverly done, the things that can be done on computers these days.

I bought this game for my 7 year old daughter because I thought the movie was great: The first Disney movie with a real heroine and no parents offed in the beginning!
It has very nice graphics and exciting challenges, though some are a little bit too difficult for the 7 y/o (jumping on walls etc).

I had this game bought for me by my Mom for the weekend and boy it was not a disappointment! This is one of the BEST games I've EVER played! It's true to the actual story of Brave and has fabulous graphics and the controls are superb! I had my game set to medium, but on some parts like the 'bosses' I had to change it to easy, perhaps this was because I hadn't had many bow or sword upgrades (you find these in chests throughout the game) but by the time I'd got to the last two or three stones in the Stone Circle (these are sort of the levels) I was almost having a new sword and bow a minute! I also ADORE the little Mini Games in the game where you play as Merida's brothers who have been turned into bears and have to solve a puzzle for her (this is usually to open a door or drawbridge)..they require some thought but aren't TOO troublesome. The graphics and story scenes are beautiful and what I like is that the voices are the same as from the film (at least for the British version). I also like the games enemies, not your usual wolves, bears and boars, but elemental creatures and shadow wolves, mandrakes and even harpies, this is a nice change from your 'usual' enemies. Altogether this is one of the BEST games I've ever played and I recommend it to all Brave fans and people just looking for a good game alike!

I ordered this game before going to see the film at the cinema as when booking our tickets we were given a code for £5 off the video game at Amazon, which brought it down to a tempting price. As a family, we are huge disney fans and we were eager to discover the story of this new Pixar princess. The film was a little darker than we had expected: not the usual romance but rather a young girl named Merida (with a charming Scottish accent which my eldest daughter delights in taking off perfectly!) on a voyage of discovery, rebelling against an overbearing mother and age-old custom and finding herself caught up in magic and danger along the way. The danger takes the form of a terrifying bear which had my youngest daughter clinging to my arm in horror before finally shuffling onto my knee. On leaving the cinema, both of my girls (aged 4 and 9) announced that they enjoyed it but were frightened and didn't want to see it again. Curiously, when I suggested cancelling the order for the Wii game, they both emphatically wanted to keep it: something to do with the appeal of a tomboy in a pretty dress, firing a bow and arrow, I think. So we did keep it and if I was surprised at the dark quality of the film, I am positively shocked at the violent nature of the video game, which has introduced, alongside the evil bear, other terrifying creatures which are absolutely nothing to do with the story of the film and which have obviously been added to give Merida more reason to fire her bow and arrow. You are Merida: wolves leap out to attack you so you fight them off and kill them, then huge and horrifying rock men throw boulders at you so you repeatedly smash them to pieces with your sword... you get the picture! Not at all what I expected from a Disney princess game!Read more ›
