I advise everyone to get this set if you can afford to as its by far the best one to get, having Luke, Leia and the "Rise against the Empire" set early is amazing enough, but having Boba Fett in here too instantly made it a must-have for me, anyone who has played any of the previous games will know that any figure that can fly has a huge advantage and once you upgrade his jetpack, then you are free to fly around the Toy Boxes as much as you like.
All figures and Play Sets in this pack will work on any console that you have the 3.0 game disc for. I use them for my PS4 and my Wii U, right now it's the only way to get Boba Fett, Luke, Leia and the "Rise of the Empire" Play Set to use on Wii U.
As for the figures themselves, WOW again, as someone who has 50+ Amiibo's and 20+ Disney Infinity figures, I have to say that these Star Wars ones are the best of them all, great poses and excellent quality too, they are good enough for Star Wars fans to collect on their own right even if they don't want to play the game, but I recommend that every Star Wars fan, both young and old gives this game a go.
The Force will be with you...............always
I have yet to play the Twilight set, so can't review that part but, as said above, there are plenty of critical reviews online.
I have just completed the Rise Against the Empire set though, and it was fantastic. Sure, it's kid friendly but, playing as an adult, there is a lot of fun and smiles to be had in this set. I would say it took me around 7 hours to complete all the missions, but I still have some challenges to complete to get to 100%. There don't appear to be any PS4 trophies for the set though (only for the Toy Box), which is a bit of a shame. The graphics are nice, and very much in keeping with the figures that come with the set. In particular, the flying sections in space are superb set pieces.
The figures themselves are, in my opinion, beautiful. Boba Fett, a timed exclusive to this set, is great, with a real sense of movement to a stationery figure.
It seems that the big thing with these Infinity sets is the Toy Box, though. I can't much comment on this. I have played around with it a little with my son, and there appears to be a LOT on offer, which is great. And he loves just messing around in the Toy Box.
So, my 5 star review is based purely on the Rise Against the Empire set, which is one of the best Star Wars games I've played for a long time (and I have been playing them for a long time!!). The fact I have the Twilight set to start, as well as the Toy Box (and all its community content), just adds to the value. Before purchasing, I thought that nearly £90 for this set was very expensive. I've now completely changed my mind. Hope you enjoy it too.
I got it at a very good price but I would say it is worth the retail price of the item if you can get it still.
The figures look so detailed and look just as good in the game. You can develop them and learn new skills to enable you to do various things. The sound effects are also brilliant. Very realistic.
All in all, I would recommend this to anyone. My son is 8 as and he loves it. Amazing open world and freedom beyond the levels themselves.
1 thing that would put me off is the amount of money needed to buy the sets and expansions etc.
Controls and vehicle handling are vastly improved as are combat moves.
I was however surprised to see some commonly repeating bugs cropping up such as camera angles getting stuck in vehicle mode when on foot and vice versa and constant connection issues in the arcade.
Still needs a better means of making the game more difficult when switching to the harder modes other than just buffing the enemies hit damage and health.
The two Star Wars playsets are awesome. I have just finished the trench run from A New Hope and destroyed Death Star. It's not for serious gamers (stick to Battlefront) but Star Wars fans and younger players will love it. An the addition characters and backward compatibility with previous Infinity characters (not playsets through) just add to the fun and longevity.
