With that said, this box set is actually a bargain for the price. If you were to get each movie individually as they are in this collection you’d be looking at close to £600. That’s including the picture book, but not including delivery prices.
So, the price is completely justified. And it’ll probably get reduced down before release anyway. And over time. But even at £250, for 55 films (most on Blu-Ray. And a book) that’s a steal. And I can’t wait to get my hands on this collection myself.
Also, to address the other 1 stars. But there’s a reason Song of the South or The Incredibles aren’t included. It’s because neither are Animation Studios produced. And one of them is Pixar. This therefore is as complete as it gets. Even having a space for the latest when the disc is released.
And yes, some are on DVD not Blu-Ray. But I really don’t care. We are getting the discs either way. And if you’ve got a decent Blu-Ray player with decent upscaling it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Better that than the film being poorly remastered.
If these unfair 1 star reviews get deleted by the authors then I will delete this one myself, so the reviews can be fair from then on.
This set includes movies that are considered part of the “Walt Disney Animation Classics Canon” consisting of fully animated movies.
Song of the South is not in here as it is NOT part of the Classics line-up. The same reason why Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks and Pete’s Dragon are not included — I guess people conveniently forgot. “Quick lets check to see if SOTS is in here and not bother to check it any of the other films lik it are!”
No Song of the South? Then it is not complete. And I wonder if Make Mine Music, Melody Time and The Three Caballeros are the censored versions (of course Fantasia is).
And they are not all on Blu-ray, either.
