This is a story about Heartbreak, Moving on, searching for truths, learning to trust again and letting love in.
Dishonorable Love’s prologue broke my heart, the chapters that came after helped to mend it and the epilogue completed it.
MacKenzie Cole was married to Marine Sergeant Thomas Cole, they were childhood sweethearts and had been through so much together. Even with Thomas being gone for long periods at a time they were still best friends. This all changed for MacKenzie when the news broke that her husband had been killed in combat.
Sergeant Julian Cooper was Thomas’s best friend and right-hand man in the Marines. Julian also suffered injuries in the same combat that killed Thomas and as a result, was discharged from the Marines.
MacKenzie and Julian first meet at Thomas’s graveside, bonded by their love for the same man a friendship is developed. They are there for each other to offer words of kindness, memories and just a listening ear.
If life hasn’t been cruel enough to MacKenzie she is faced with more heartache, everything she thought she knew and had has been tarnished. With the need to find answers and move on Julian helps her try to uncover the truth.
MacKenzie doesn't know what to believe or who she can trust but With Julian helping her he has become a constant in her life and their feelings growing stronger each day, she begins to feel something stronger than she ever felt for Thomas.
Can MacKenzie overcome all the deceit Thomas left? Can Julian stand by her side through it all? Will they both learn to trust and love again?
One-Click this gem and find out for yourself!!!!
Military books seem quite popular at the moment and I was a bit sceptical when I first started reading it, however I grew to like it.
MacKenzie loses her husband Thomas a marine who was killed on a mission, at his funeral she meets Julian who has been working alongside Thomas and got injured in the process. Over the book, you find out that Thomas had cheated on MacKenzie and has a newborn son.
MacKenzie and Julian have feelings for each other and I'm glad its explored through the book and isn't completely rushed.
I have to admit, MacKenzie is a strong character and I grew to like her. I would be more than happy to read a follow up
The writing was amazing, and Julian was amazing!! Loved kenzie!!!

For Julian and MacKenzie, the healing process was very much a two steps forward, one step back kind of thing, portraying the grieving process in a heartbreakingly raw and incredibly genuine way. Julian was the perfect mix of protective alpha and endearing sweetheart. I loved breaking down this complicated man, discovering his personal heartache, and watching him learn to trust, love, and accept the happiness he deserves. MacKenzie was one of those characters that you just feel. Yes, she was an absolute hot mess with the death of her husband and the secrets and deceit that revealed itself afterwards, but she exhibited a quiet strength that grew into the deafening roar of a survivor as the story progressed. Her transformation was reflected in her relationship with Julian as their unassuming connection turned into an undeniable sexual tension and eventually explosive chemistry.
Dishonorable Love flowed easily, moving at a pace that allowed me to experience the characters’ feelings and still keep me excited by the unfolding plot. I had a few questions about some of the military details, but they weren’t major issues or vital to the plot. I managed to unravel most of the mystery by the time the truth was revealed, but Savannah Stewart still had some tricks up her sleeve, making a couple connections I couldn’t have predicted. If you love unraveling secrets, heart-wrenching emotion, scorching chemistry, and falling in love then Dishonorable Love is the book for you!
I really don’t think I’m articulate enough to describe how much I loved this book. Hopefully, I can figure out a way to do it justice.
First off, I must say I have never cried in a prologue. That changed with Dishonorable Love. Savannah Stewart blended her words together effortlessly and beautifully and hit me deep down in my heart. As a veteran’s wife, I was nervous going in, but I am seriously so glad I did.
MacKenzie Cole was a beautiful and relatable character- a woman who loved with her entire being. Broken after the death of her husband, she finds comfort in a friend of her deceased husband.
Julian Cooper was just flat out charming and amazing. I loved him from the beginning. I knew that he was genuine and never once worried about the character he would become. The two of them, together, were flawless. They overcame so much together and continued to love each other through it all.
Dishonorable Love had twist and turns, some that made your heart full and some that made your heart drop. This novel has left me with major book-hangover, and I can’t wait to own this one in paperback. I cried, and laughed, and gasped for air. Stewart knows how to write and how to make her readers feel all the feels. PHENOMENAL!! A five star review is not nearly enough. I feel like it needs to be 10 stars!
First I would just like to say that this is not the first book I have read by this author, but it quickly became my favorite! This story was so amazing that it had me crying ugly tears literally not even five minutes into the book. The overall plot of this book is one that has been done many of times but I don't think it has ever torn me up so bad until this book.
Julian comes into Mackenzie's life during a time when she needs someone the most. The two had so many turns and obstacles to complete within their relationship that I wasn't really sure how the book was going to turn out. I am so glad that I stuck it out because I absolutely fell in love with both of the characters and their thoughts, emotions, just everything about them!!
The only word I can come up with to even describe this book: INTENSE. There were many times that I had to put it down and get my thoughts together before continuing and now I'm struggling with myself to keep from picking it back up again. Word of advice: this book is definitely a re-read but PLEASE give yourself at least a week before re-reading due to emotional overload, lol.
I cannot recommend this book enough, it was breathtaking and beautiful, a story about finding light in the darkness.
There is a great romantic story here but the main part of the storyline is all the twists and turns that get thrown at MacKenzie. Just when you thought she was getting over another tragic discover something worse comes her way. Ms. Stewart kept me guessing as I turned every page. Mackenzie is a strong women as she deals with all the lies and deceit that she discovers. Julian is a hero to fall in love with. He never pushes MacKenzie, even though he has a strong attraction to her, and is always there for her.
The characters always make or break a story for me and Ms. Stewart did not disappoint in that area. She has characters that you will love and characters that you will hate and want to strangle. All the characters are well developed and play a crucial point in the story. Each will provoke many feelings as you turn the pages.
I received a gift copy in exchange for an honest review. Read and reviewed for Kylie's Fiction Addiction.

Wow, wow, wow! Savannah Stewart has a hit with this!!! I loved every single second of this book, it had everything, love, passion, heartbreak, betrayal, redemption, you name it, it was in there.
Mackenzie Cole's marine husband, Thomas, is killed in combat, leaving her life in shambles back home. As expected of every military spouse she struggles with depression and how to move on. In the midst of everything, her husband's secrets start coming out, making the recovery process even more difficult. Luckily, a brother in arms to her late husband, Julian Cooper. He befriends her and helps her get her life back to normal as well as helps her to cover the truth in all of Thomas's exposed secrets. What starts as friendship develops into more.
I loved the characters, the author was able to make MacKenzie very relatable to all military spouses. And Julian was not only a great friend but a very romantic and passionate lover.
This book was intense and addicting, I couldn't put it down. There were twists throughout that constantly kept me guessing as to how everything would play out.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a bit of suspense in their romance!!
