Product Description

From the Back Cover

ER charge nurse Erin Quinn escaped personal turmoil to work on the peaceful California coast. But when a hazardous material spill places Pacific Mercy Hospital on disaster status and stresses staff, she's put to the test. And thrown into conflict with the fire department's handsome incident commander, who thinks her strategy is out of line. Fire captain Scott McKenna has felt the toxic effects of tragedy; he's learned to go strictly by the book to advance his career, heal his family, and protect his wounded heart. When he's forced to team with the passionately determined ER nurse, sparks fly. As they work to save lives, can they handle the attraction kindled between them . . . without getting burned?

This book is essentialy a Christian Romance which I found to be good. The story line was enjoyable if a little predicatable and I found myself liking the charactters. However, I did find it a little cliched that the characters whilst essentially disliking each other on sight were obviously in love from the beginning. This made it feel a bit like a Mills and Boons for Christians. However, don't let this put you off as it is a well witten and good story.

Two strong lead characters, and an interesting storyline. Realistic portrayal on how a local environmental disaster impacts on the wider community, the effect of media in stoking the general public's concerns, and its impact on all the staff at Mercy Hospital.

Having ended up reading a number of books with biblical references that didn't really add anything to the story, I thought that it was relevant here, it was an intrinsic with the thread of the story. Cheesy, corny, predictable, Mills & Boom 'ish but nevertheless a really good read. The characters really came alive.

Got this as one of the many free books I loaded onto my kindle - not sure if I would have paid for it. Mind you if the other books were lower in price I would buy them - sucker for romance to read whilst on the cross trainer!

very predictable but enjoyable story. shame the disaster wasnt a little more disasterous, found myself waiting for the disaster to happen, then realised it already had!
