Classic mystery along the lines of Broadchurch and Missing
on 14 May 2017
This is very much along the lines of The Missing and Broadchurch but the ending far more plausible and as a result, very easy to guess. It reminded me of Twin Peaks, the missing girl had the same character, pretty, spoilt and not very likeable. But you suffer with the parents every second of the way, they are nice, decent people, who take it in turns to go off he rails due to their grief and their total ignorance of what their daughter got up to.
But the main character of Molina the detective is the key to this series' appeal. He handles himself, and the people involved very well, and he is not afraid to stand up to his very unhelpful boss. Divorced and the father of a teenaged girl himself we feel with him how difficult it is for parents these days to keep any control over their children, past a certain age, and how fragile the lives are of adolescents who think that they know it all but in reality understand very little.
