Format: Paperback
The author sets out to give a detailed account of the reasonable adjustment duties imposed by British law and a critical analysis of reasonable adjustments. This is particularly to 'assist in the development of obligations which will enable full inclusion and participation in society of those affected', a theme well reinforced throughout the book. It comes with a stunning amount of research, with well over 1200 footnotes referencing 181 cases, uncounted books and articles, and legislation not only from the UK and EC, but Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Ireland, Australia, Canada and the US. It is well up-to-date, including the Government response to the Equality Bill consultation of July 2008, and a searing assessment of Lewisham v Malcolm. Its cover of the current melee which is law in this area makes this essential reading for anyone involved with the forthcoming Single Equality Bill.

Excellent book. So well written, accessible and of such interest to those of us working in the area of disability in practice. Though the book is out of date and does not pick up on the Equality Act 2010 it is still of use when one needs to think about Reasonable Adjustment and how this plays out in practice.
