About the Author

Mark Adamsbaum is an actor, photographer and licensed New York City Sightseeing Guide. He lives most of the year in Budapest where he teaches English but returns to his native New York City every summer to play golf, softball in Central Park, and guide wide-eyed tourists through the streets and canyons of Manhattan. Reka Lengyel is a native of Budapest. She studied psychology, dance, theater, social sciences and literature at university before finally receiving a degree in art history. After spending several years in Australia and Boston, she settled down in her hometown. She currently works as a freelance writer - contributing articles about art, wine and cultural events - and as a part-time bartender in an Irish pub.

It was a Christmas present for my other half and we could not stop laughing while reading it. It has some incorrect sentences but it is good fun and contains words you would never learn from any other language books( Works well as long as you can run fast after you say anything nasty like that to someone :-) ) My other half shouted some stupid sentences from this book while we were over there after a stupid driver was showing his middle finger. Luckily we had central lock on the car because the man did not take his knowledge of dirty words really well :-D

I love the latest slang when I get it which is not always the first time around. My wife is Hungarian, but we have been living abroad for some 35 years and see the language change. This little tome has a lot of fun new stuff in in - and some of the language we used in the 70s isn't understood by the young crowd. Try it, you will love it, too.

Has allowed me to surprise my Hungarian family and friends with my command of less savoury idioms, course phrases, choice swearwords and the like.

Hungarian is a difficult enough language without the added pressure to learn the slang idiom. This is something the outsider
should never need to use.
