We've all seen these in use. The International Space Station guidance computer is malfunctioning and the under-pressure astronauts need to perform a complex calculation to adjust its orbital path. Do they use a Bic biro with a bitten-down end? No they do
A unique and innovative collection of ball pens using the revolutionary pressurized refill which enables all pens to be used in extreme weather conditions i.e. hot or cold, on all surfaces, and underwater, and at zero gravity.

Update after prolonged ownership.
I left hospital and stopped using this pen but after becoming bedbound again and getting stuck using ordinary pens not being able to write when at any angle at all I started using this again.
Every time I tried to use it I hard to scribble somewhere first and even if I was using thepen, put it down for a few minutes, it would be the sane every time I picked it up again. Plus like ithers have said, the ink flow is erratic. I assumed this was because the pen had not been used for some time (even though the same problems were evident in the beginning but Not so often) so I bought a refil ...but same problems continue...bad ink flow, faint at times and needing to scribble before using many times. The frequency is at a point to be really annoying.
Also, I forgot to mention at the start that the pen comes apart at times.
If it was a regular pen it would be in the bin but because when it does write it can write at angles or upside down I keot hold of it ..just don't write important documents or letters with it.
I think it is time to try the competition.
For the reasons stated I have had to change the rating from 4 to 2.
Lol plus it is now about twice the price I paid
Pen comes nicely gift boxed & the fact that it can be used in allsorts of bizarre conditions seems to appeal to everyone from geeky teenagers to the men who have everything- apart of course from a Spacetec pen!

Firstly, It doesn't matter which Fisher space pen you buy you will have exactly the same refill inside, so it is going to be price, style and comfort of the pen over the quality of the refill. I find these ones to be a little top heavy, but I do prefer the longer barrel and retractable nib to the break apart style of the bullet pens, but the bullet pens are a lot more stylish (and twice the price).
What you will also find with space pens and their refills is that the ink doesn't last as long as a standard ball point refill and they are around the 5GBP mark to replace. The ink does occasionally blob and due to the nature of the ink you have a smudge risk hours after writing. Furthermore, the ink can leech through certain types of paper. When you go back to your notepad in a few months, you will see the ink quite clearly on the other side of the paper - not a major problem unless you have written on both sides and you need to photo-copy the page.
To date, I am on my 2nd pen of this style due to the barrel fracturing at the base. That isn't too bad for 15 years of space pens, so I am not grumbling about this.
I write on carbon-copy (copy side) paper quite regularly and the space pen wins it every time for me. I do like these pens, but they are by no means the best value for money. If the Fisher Space Pen were a car, it would be a Jeep - solid, robust and can go places that other vehicles can't, but the fuel consumption is pretty poor and the fuel isn't cheap.
( the first two where Local purchases and the pens were Silver in colour.)
They work great outdoors in the rain writing on damp paper.
They are a good weight and give good writing comfort.
Although this one sometimes smudges slightly on the first letter still a Great Pen.
