I bought this for my son and he loved it. I must confess, I started to read few pages myself and I couldn't stop reading & had to finish till the end. The book is well written and every chapter is even more intriguing and exciting than the last. The author does extremely well to develop the plot and maintain the pace of the story. It brought me back to my childhood days and books like this is the reason I fell in love with reading. And thanks to this book and author I can see the same affection for reading in my son's eyes. The only criticism that my son had (hence gave four star, other wise it deserved five) is that the book cover was to childish for him. But I did tell him not to judge book by its cover :).

A very good fiction book for 11 years and above.
My favourite bit was the zoo's burglary the description was so good I couldnt stop reading.
It may of been shorter than other fiction books but just as good.
I would really like a seqeul seeing as you left it on a very big cliff hanger.

I bought this book for my son, who is dinosaur mad, he has every dinosaur figure you can imagine and even has a 5 foot Pterodactyl in the corner of his room. I cam across this book by change while searching for something along the lines of the Pixar film "The Good Dinosaur".
I read the book first (as its on my kindle) then gave it to my son to read. He loved it as much as I did.
Nick Mackie has found a brilliant balance between childish and teenage reading, a happy medium that can be difficult to achieve when targeting a difficult age group.
The characters are easy to interact with and Edison is what every 11 year old boy wants to be. The reader is taken on a journey, through hope, challenges, dreams and friendship.
A young boy's story of coming of age. I would recommend this book to anyone with a young child. There is nothing more liberating than listening to your son laughing out loud while reading a book, makes a change from the tick tick tick of the laptop or Xbox.
