I am using four of these to heat outdoor cat sheds in a cattery and have added a plugin thermostat Timeguard ET05 Plug-in Electronic Thermostat to control the temperature as there is no built in control. They heat up reasonably fast, and because of the surface area provide a really effective heating system for a 7 x 5 foot shed. I have a counter across the back of the shed with beds on, and have mounted the heaters on the forward legs of the countertop, so that the unit sticks out into the shed and both sides are thus radiating heat. It would probably work just as well in a much larger area, but this is a very economical solution to keep my cat sheds warm and snug. Watch out for thermostats as they are not all reliable sellers (the first one I ordered never arrived, so I switched to the slightly more expensive one linked above, which I have also reviewed, and is so far working fine on all the units). I tried the feet but would not trust this as it's very easily knocked over (probably fine in e.g. a bedroom if children or pets are not likely to knock it over). I've used the wall mounting that is included and that is completely solid. My only criticism is that the cable is very short (about 3 feet), so I've had to put it rather closer to the thermostat than I'd like, though that just means I have to set the thermostat higher to make sure the whole shed is a good temp before it cuts out.

I purchased this heater on the recommendation of a friend who said they were low cost to run and heated a good size room well. Unfortunately I was left disappointed. While it definitely was cost effective, the heating itself was not. If you are looking to heat a small room (think small bathroom/downstairs toilet or very small single bedroom) then great, it would work well. However it struggled to heat our smallest bedroom for our baby which could fit no more than a cot, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a changing table in. So we were left feeling disappointed.
